also is it now possible to get US h1b visa? I may get an offer from one of the US firms. Just curious to know are they approving without much questions? And are we getting slots available in Toronto?

If you have not even gotten anything then first get the approval before worrying on visa. Is the h1 quota still available or are you quota exempt?

After approval stage:
Currently new visa is restricted till current executive order(which expires Dec 31st but not sure if it will be extended or not) but exemption available:
