Yes, I got approval within 8 days of applying online. PRTD can be only applied if you're outside Canada.
Hi
Did you sent your application via email and what documents did you attached.
I heard there is time limit you have to travel within 30 days with Authority Letter.

Question: if you are not able to travel in 30 days, then. Is is possible you can stay until VAC offices are open and you can send your passport for stamping.
Please reply
Thanks

@ssen11 Reading some of the earlier posts, I understand that you were trying to get PRTD while living in USA. I am in a similar situation like you. I entered Canada for the first time in March 2020 and returned back to USA the next day. I haven't received my PR card yet, hence I understand that I need to apply for PRTD. My question is did you finally apply for PRTD from USA? If yes, did they issue you multiple entry PRTD (for you to be able to travel to and fro between USA and Canada)?

Also, I was wondering if we need to apply for PRTD if we travel by road to Canada? Or if CoPR would suffice?

Thank you for your help,
Ajeya

select permanent residence card and fill further details , it will search your application andyour application will appear, then select :- link your application to account, after that you can check your status
I believe that you are mixing up permanent resident card and Permanent resident card travel document.

There is no way as of today. You can only link the following paper applications:
  • Visitor visa
  • Work permit
  • Study permit
  • Visitor record
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Family Sponsorship (excluding applications to become a sponsor)
  • Federal Skilled Worker
  • Federal Skilled Trade
  • Provincial Nominee Program
  • Quebec-Selected Skilled Worker
  • Quebec Investors
  • Quebec Entrepreneurs
  • Self-employed persons (including Quebec)
  • Start-up visa
  • Caregivers (Caring for people with high medical needs pathway, Caring for children pathway)
  • In-Canada Live-In Caregiver
  • In-Canada Protected Persons and Convention Refugees

Hello Lilybee,

My application is almost complete. I was wondering about fees payment. Can we pay $50 through canadian mastercard or do we have to pay $50 through indian currency? Currently, I’m in India so not sure.

Thanks for helping me out.
Hey. I also want to apply for PRTD. So can you please share your processing time once you get your PRTD from india. Thanks.

Hi Guys,
Quick thing, need to travel back home, PR is still under processing. I am currently under my work permit with a TRV.
-What if the PR gets approved and I receive the Virtual landing COPR before I fly out, will I be able to return back on my work permit.
-If im already out of country and I receive the inland COPR, can i travel back on my work permit.

Cause if i receive my copr while im out of country and if i need to apply for PRTD, i wouldn't meet the residential obligations i believe.
Any responses would be appreciated, Thanks!

Hi everyone I'm currently travelling to Pakistan and was on a valid work permit until yesterday when I received my copr. I was an inland applicant. I have my return flight in a few days and no time to apply for a PRTD. Can I re enter on my TRV and work permit? Any thoughts?
were you able to travel back on the work permit ?

1. Your work permit will be cancel automatically so does your TRV. So you will need to apply PRTD from outside canada.

2.As long as i believe your CoPR will be revoke and your landing will be pending untill you come back to canada. So i i would say Don't risk that if its not urgent. In my CoPR they specialy mention "If you are currently outside of Canada, do not attempt to travel to Canada. Please contact us immediately at the following address and we will send you additional information:"

Hi..Is there anyone here given virtual landing through inland COPR while being stuck in India?
I have valid WP and my spouse and kids have valid visitor visa but all have obviously become inactive now.
We all have PRTD approved but Authorization letter has not been given till date. The response from the COVID PRTD email id is - “we are unable to provide you with Authorization letter at the moment since the circumstances of your landing require further clarification “. We were also given option to revert back PR status and travel back on WP, for which I replied that plz revert PR status for all 4 of us and let us travel on WP and visitor visas but since our reply we have not heard back from them. Its been 3 months now but there has been absolute silence.
Have sent many emails/webforms to Covid Prtd email id / Delhi immigration/ Etobicoke IRCC but not getting any response on the further steps and how do we travel back.
Is there anyone here with family who have got this response and still waiting?
TIA

No IRCC now doublechecks that you are in Canada before sending a virtual lamdimg because some people were incorrectly given virtual landing because they hadn't mentionned they were out of Canada.

We were on a 3 weeks long vacation to India while the whole world went into lockdown and nobody knew when will the flights resume. Then on June 1st we were given PR status. I did not know that we had to inform IRCC when we go out of Canada for a short vacation. Our current address is still Canadian address since that is our home.
As soon as we received the inland COPR I had raised a webform to inform them that we r in India but they replied to apply PRTD and now they are not giving Authorization letter. I just wish they had emailed or called us to check if we were in Canada like they are doing right now.

Btw from a post above which is just a few days old , a person has been given inland COPR while visiting Pakistan on WP. So it seems IRCC has still not learnt from its mistake and still giving ppl inland COPR and inactivating their WPs without informing. It’s sad.

You were out of Canada for multiple months so you really should have sent in a webform updating your address. You are asked to give information on where you are currently residing and update via webform if there are any changes in your address, family composition, etc. so I don’t think you can criticize IRCC. They were trying to find a way for people to land as soon as possible while being socially distant. The virtual landing only works for people in Canada. Once you were given the virtual landing it is very hard to backtrack. CIC discovered many people did not update their address so they started double checking that people were in Canada before issuing virtual landing. Would add that you should also be contacting CRA about your CCB if you have any children with you in India. They will need to determine if you qualify for CCB payments.

If you are speaking about @HARRY990909 he hasn’t received virtual landing yet. It is up to an applicant to update their information so wouldn’t really put all the blame on IRCC.

I have already informed them that we are stuck in India from the past 7 months through multiple emails and webforms.
