They actually do.
Some files get assigned to officers, and they may be late in getting their work done.


You applied on 28th May, I'd suggest giving them a call, case agents can lookup the status of your file, see if eligiblity has been approved or not.

Upcoming week you should hear something,
If you don't call IRCC @ 1-888-242-2100
Ask them the status of your application.

28th May from Ontario applicant waiting for an update. My friends who applied in the morning around 11am already got their approvals on 22nd October. I am completely anxious about it. If anyone else is in the same situation or has been in one, please advise what should I do?

I am afraid that they might not at all process it. The status is We are processing your application. It has been like this now for 5 months. And the main thing is my friends are from the same study program but just applied in the morning and me at 7pm.
I dont know ... I have been following thia forum since the past 5 months and I was so happy when they started 27th and 28th and now its just bringing my breaking point. I tried calling IRCC... everytime the same lady picks up the call and tells me to wait. She said that your application is complete but I dont know how long will it take ......

Yeah, it's a tough situation. I'm June 1st and seeing people from June 3 and 4 getting processed ahead of me is really stressful.
But on Thursday there were May 28th and June 3rd people getting processed, so it's not exactly an ordered thing.
They're processing people around our date, so I'm hoping we'll both get an answer this coming week. Best we can do for now is to stay optimistic.

Hi everyone,
Is it realistic to expect PGWP application to be approved by mid-December, given the current processing time? I applied on 16th September inside Canada with biometrics already submitted.

Now they are processing may last and beginning of june applications, I think your turn is too far if applied without biometrics. If you applied with biometrics then hopefully you will get it soon.

Thanks! I submitted my biometrics in 2019, so they are valid for 10 years.
I have to travel to India in February, so a bit concerned.

this was before covid happened. this wasn't a very long process at that time.
Right now the processing time for trv is mentioned 40 days (inside Canada) but I won't rely on this as I have also applied for TRV on Oct 20 and haven't heard from ircc since then. I am also planning to travel in dec but won't book my tickets till I get my passport request. I will suggest you the same. If you have an option to book refundable tickets then go for it otherwise you should wait.

May I ask where the permit is mailed from and which city you reside? I'm also waiting for the hard copy to arrive just want to get a hang of mailing time.
