Have to agree and visa officers will too.
My ears are picking up a voice far away in the distance where a consultant is saying, "Don't believe those blokes at CanadaVisa, they are the real scammers and make money by defaming prestigious universities like Northeastern University in Toronto".

What have they said to you about this process? Have they even applied for the covid list?

They way these for profits/ diploma mills are set up it would seem unlikely they could qualify of the covid list, they really dont have the staff on the ground to accomplish this, its an office with a few rooms and either remote or a few part time teachers.
I sent an email to ask them about, though i already know the did not got approval.
IS being on the DLI list is not enough to be good standard university? As they are on DLI.

No, just because a university or college is on the DLI list, does not mean it is a good one. This might be far fetched but I think Canadian government is using diploma mills as a source of income.

But on an individual level, if you do not graduate from a well known university, you are going to have a very hard time finding a job. It's pretty much how it works in any country, the local job employers would obviously know which university is a diploma mill and which is not.

I don't see how international student even landed on the choice of these universities. If they looked at the list of DLI, there are tons more schools more well known and legitimate.

Only reason I guess is that it is the "immigration agents" are getting commission to recommend these scam schools to students to get them to pay money for immigration services they would most likely not get a permit and waste their money.

It is not the problem of the Canadian government to designate these schools as DLI. A legitimate student will do their own research and realize it's a terrible choice that offer nothing to them.

What is the value of a Master's in Project Management? Project Management is a practical skill that can only be showcased by experience, not an academic degree. If you really want to get a PM job then get a PMP certification

One of these days, I will go to their 'campus' and take some pictures for public viewing. If they don't shut down cos of COVID that is
They are located in First Canadian Place in downtown Toronto. I've walked by their location many times. There are several schools that have satellite campuses in the Toronto financial district.

Northeastern in Toronto is a satellite of the main campus in Boston. It's a real university. Having said that, I'm not sure I see the logic in paying a crazy amount of money to attend a satellite location in Canada as an international student. It's not a real campus so none of those benefits. Satellite locations are basically there to allows busy professionals to study who don't have time to travel to a campus or spend time on a campus. IMO that's not a great environment for an international student. But just my opinion.

Separately, agree that it will be interesting to see if the satellite location survives (same for the other satellite locations for other universities located in the Toronto financial district). Almost none of us have returned since COVID hit. And once there is a return, I expect it's going to look very different than it does today. Will be interesting to see if schools look to exit these locations.

Northeastern University Toronto Campus is not on approved DLI's list. The have a small campus, i know that. But being an American University's Campus, i thought they will make it to the list. extremely disappointed. What are their Chances in future, near Future? Need some positive News.
Northeastern University Toronto and Vancouver Campuses have submitted their readiness plans and they are under review by the relevant provincial authorities. As IRCC approves institutions’ readiness plans, it will update its list of Designated Learning Institutions.

We are confident that our plans meets the requirements for approval, and we expect to hear an update in early November.

That is very good to hear. Where did you confirm it from?

Hi guys this email from George Brown College

We want to assure our students that
George Brown College has already submitted our readiness plan to the government and is waiting final approval at this time.

We were also informed by the government that colleges who get approved after Oct. 20th will be updated on the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website on Nov. 3rd 2020.
We expect that George Brown College, like many other colleges and universities within the Greater Toronto Area, will be included in the approved list soon.
