my income on NOA have been steadily $150k+ for a few years. and I'm still in this luck-based game with those who struggles with basic income? I have zero issue supporting my parents and I am still given same priority as those low-income dudes?

Frankly this lottery is far worse than FCFS.

We can't have capable responsible people being rewarded for being prepared and fast in their submissions because it will sideline those who are physically handicapped.

So instead of having a separate number of FCFS slots for the handicapped, we revert to.....

everyone being equally screwed using the lottery system.

Thank you to those lawyers who saw a one off opportunity to sue the government as well.


back to lottery means no more business for the immigration lawyers for PGP too.

this year enough time has been given to file .... this means all eligibility conditions may be verified later and if some found ineligible in that case they could send invite to the next in wtg list .... means all applicants get a lottery number say one at 10500 may get a chance of they find two hundred applicants unfit .... just my guess as this time enough time given also the lottery as you call it may not be there .... it may be some kind of selection based on criteria they have finalised .... i would wait for the final guidelines being declared rather make these guesses but that enough time has been given means some guidelines are in place to restrict bogus applicants

As long as the income is declared in your tax return and appears on line 150 and in your NOA, then yes.

Anything you have declared as income will appear on line 150 of your tax return. NOA is a notice of assessment. It's what CRA gives you to show what taxes you filed. So in short, did you declare the part time income in your tax return? If so, you can include it. If not, then you can't. Pretty simple.

No - you can still apply.

I landed in 2017 & didn't met income requirement in 2017. I meet income requirements for 2018, 2019 & will meet it in 2020 as well. Am i eligible to apply in PGP 2020 based on these income levels? I am worried that may be CIC will ask for 2017 income.

yes, you will. just wait for their update for 2020 income levels..

If so, with 10,000 applications accepted this year, there is about a 1 in 10 chance of getting selected, and with next year's 30,000 being chosen there will be a little less than 1 in 3 chance?

Possibly more people will qualify this year due to them easing up on the income requirements. What do you guys think?

As long as your available income is more than the MNI, you are fine. I think any unemployed EI benefit (other than special benefits) should be deducted from your total income ( NOA-line 150). The attached CIC form explains in detail. Expert advise please.

Hey, Guys Just want to add more info, hopefully, it may help.

As @ron09 has mentioned, we have more than enough for 2018, 2019 and 2020

We are still not sure that when they will start sending the invitation. Let's assume if someone can get the NOA for 2020 before sending the application he or she should be good with 2020, 2019, and 2018 year NOA.

That's the same situation IRCC allowed many in 2019 PGP

If you have 2018 NOA then 2018, 2017, and 2016

In not then, 2017, 2016, and 2015.

Also, as the age of the sibling is near 21,

For the 2020 process, CIC know that you may not get your 2020 Notice of Assessment (NOA) until after you apply. So, for the 2020 process, CIC accept your application if you submit your NOAs for the 2018 and 2019 tax years, and submit your 2020 NOA as soon as it’s available.

Sorry Im kinda confused. I've been trying to check the website but I cant find the federal income table to see the MNI.

Announcement says Sponsorship for 2020 starts in October 13 but how will I know if Im eligible if I cant see the MNI table?

Didn't you try applying in 2019? It was First Come First Served (FCFS). Not luck based.

I think anybody who gets picked by lottery this year will have a bye as far as 2020 income qualification goes. So they will only be looking at 2019 and 2018 income. 2020 income is a gong show.

Just a guess though.

With the lottery the main hurdle is getting picked by the computer/system.

With the lottery, the main hurdle is weeding out applicants who don't qualify in the first place. They should at least have some kind of financial documents to submit with initial application so that IRCC can at least confirm that they qualified in the first place. Otherwise, people who don't qualify may get picked, denying other qualified applicants their potential pick.
