This drama for biometrics started 2019 December. Before that it was normal. It might be a national security or something else. We don’t know exactly whose deciding it what we know is IRCC giving announcements. So we push IRCC. By the way both service Canada and IRCC are both government departments. They can deal with themselves.

They won’t. The decision to waive biometrics for immigration applications (in this case due to them being instated as a national security measure) comes from higher than IRCC. They don’t control when Service Canada resume that function.

I feel you guys! Im also stuck with biometrics. All other stages is good with my application except for this. I am thinking why not ask RCMP offices to do it? I mean, if they are checking about criminality stuffs. I get my Criminal Reference Check every year (before every 6 months) for my work because I am working working with children so we need an updated CRC. But I am not sure if that is the same as IRCC's criminality check.
I hope that they will figure it out what to do because the more people are stuck with this process the more applications will be left behind.
We have to wait patiently and hopeful.

With plenty of us waiting to do biometrics, they're still issuing invitations. That sounds too odd as I wonder where we will go once Service Canada reopens. We are a huge cluster now.

I guess its another income for the government with all these applications. Then the people who suffers are all of us and the employees.

Ridiculous bud. I got the BIL request on March 13 and bam it closed the same damn day. And it's stuck with biometrics only. The same saga with everyone.

In social media every day I’m asking ircc abs Service Canada. But same answer from them. Felling irritated with them.

Even I'm writing to them on Twitter (retweet, like, comment) but there isn't enough action from the needy ones to create a wave of interest I believe. I reckon there are 50k - 60k ones who are waiting for biometrics but hardly a few under 50 asking them on Twitter page.

For people who are frustrated about biometrics, go talk to your MP about this. If the immigration minister faces enough pressure from fellow MPs, he will be forced to do something about it.

Good. I would talk to my MP, but I think it’s unnecessary until I pass eligibility and biometrics is the only thing keeping me away from getting biometrics.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share what I read on service canada website.

Biometrics collection service disruptions
Your application won’t be refused or closed if you can’t give your biometrics due to COVID-19 service disruptions.

Designated Service Canada Centres
Service Canada Centres are gradually resuming biometrics collection services for permanent residence applicants who need to give biometrics and have not given them within the last 10 years.

Service Canada officers will call you to book an appointment. Don’t go to a Service Canada Centre unless a Service Canada officer calls you and schedules an appointment for you.

Visa application centres (VACs) and United States Application Support Centers (ASCs)
Some VACs and ASCs are reopening. Check the VAC or ASC website before you go to make sure it’s open. In some locations, you may need to wear a mask and follow other health and safety rules.

I feel like this is a good news better than they will still cancel collecting biometrics right? Hopefully they will book us an appointment soon and quick! Keep safe everyone! Good luck to all of us!
