Hi Friends, I have a couple questions regarding spousal sponsorship forms. I am a Canada PR sponsoring my wife. We got married recently this year and I am currently living in India since March this year and will be returning to Canada on October and send PR files to Nova scotia.

1. IMM0008 Form: There is a section for 'Dependents' in this form which the principal applicant has to fill. Am I a dependent here? Since I am sponsor, I do not think we have to enter my information here. But, they have mentioned "You must provide following details on each of your family members, whether they will be accompanying you to Canada or not. You must include your spouse or common law partner, if applicable, and all of your dependent children, and those of your spouse and or common-law-partner, who are not already permanent residents or citizens of Canada." I am really confused about this.

2. IMM5406 (Family information form): Here we are supposed to enter marital status. There are two options "Married - physically present" and "Married -not physically present". What should we select here? At this moment, we are together in India but this is temporary since I will be returning to Canada next month and wife will be in India till her PR gets approved. She has to sign the documents this week and so am really confused whether we should select "Married - physically present" since when the form is signed, we are together. What should I put my address as? Indian address where I am staying now temporarily or Canadian address where I will be staying in October?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
1- The applicant might add dependents in case he/she has children. The sponsor is not dependent on the applicant in this context.
2- "Married - physically present" means you attended the wedding in person and the opposite for "Married -not physically present".

Yes, would add that the phrase "who are not already permanent residents or citizens of Canada" makes it clear it does not apply to the sponsor (who must be one of those to do family sponsorship).

Hello
I am working on my application to sponsor my common law spouse .
We managed to extend his visa to allow for the one year cohabitation
My question is do we have to mail in the application?
Also we are struggling with validation on the personal history section for him .
Do the work dates need to run consecutivly right up to 2020? We are finding there is not room to lift all the various places of employment and there isn't room to add extra .. ?
We are unable to validate, is this why ?

Spent 5 Christmases alone here :( but we have HOPE now since I got an XF0000000 file no. Q I asked in the main forum was as below:-
  1. Should I wait for an AOR 1 to submit PCC and PPT copies to be uploaded?
  2. OR I can upload those right now with a TEMP FILE NO. I just obtained starting XF00000??
  3. OR may be submit PCC in original as it used to be years ago; even thou I read many members have uploaded PCC thru webform or GC Keys account linked..

We are at 60% the black just showed up today. We have his biometrics done and his physical is next week so I’m confused and worried
Take it easy. As long as you don’t receive any mail/email from them telling you anything about your file, do not panic. Do what you have to do. Or contact them.
