Some details in your GCMS notes are redacted under various provisions of the Access to Information and s15 is one such section under which it is redacted.

For most applicant's the security assessment on page 2 will be blank after it starts, and it will be redacted under section 15(1). This only indicates that the security has been initiated or even completed.

To know the security details, see the activities section in the middle of the notes. It will say under filed, as updated, passed etc. This is one way to know.

The other way to know is through the CBSA and CSIS notes.

The criminality for most is usually done along with R10 early in the process. However, if your are an inland applicant and did not submit your RCMP PCC or if your biometrics is pending, then this status is normal.

The eligibility takes place in two stages. First an analyst or an assistant will review and make a recommendation. This can be recommended passed / Met / etc. This recommendation is then reviewed by an officer who makes a final determination. The terminology used such as met / recommended passed / passed an no relevance.

Instead see your assessment on page 2 of the GCMS notes and see the corresponding notes in the last 2-5 pages.

If your most recent note for eligibility looks like this, then your eligibility is conclusively passed by an officer.


If your most recent note looks like this, this is a recommendation from an analyst or an assistant, and only after a final determination by an officer, will your eligibility be passed and then your security will be initiated.




After your eligibility is passed, your security will be initiated.

All security related info in your GCMS notes is redacted. When there is a redaction, it will be under a specific section of the Access to Information Act, usually s 15 or 16. See https://bit.ly/2FQBDnp On page 2 of your assessment, the security will be blank, and this indicates it is in progress or passed.

Based on your above notes, it seems your security is in progress and you will see 1 or 2 more such notes related to security before your security is passed.
