Reference Letter Date Query

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me with following 2 queries.

1. Reference Letter Date (Today Or Backdate)?
I left a job in 2017 and didn't get a reference letter which met the IRCC requirements. I have requested a new letter from the employer, now should I ask him to backdate this letter to the date my employment added or is it ok to have the current date in the letter??

2. Reference Letter Tenure duration?
I started working for an employer as a part-time employee in 2017 who I am still working for now. However, I started a new job in 2019, so for the experience points purpose, I put the end date of the first job in 2019 and start date of 2nd job in 2019. Both were different NOC jobs. So now, would that be a problem if the reference letter of my 1st job states that I am still working for this job?

1. You don't need to backdate. You can mention the dates work with the letter showing latest date.
2. Part time work experience cannot be counted towards work for Express entry. Only full time. If your reference letter shows full time for throughout it's fine otherwise don't mention the part time role. Ask letter of employment for only the full time

Are you sure that's true? Never read it anywhere?
What I read on the cic website is :
With reference to segments 23 and 24 given above, the authorities have formulated a definition for ‘foreign work experience’. Foreign work experience denotes work experience that:

1. A foreign national in Canada acquires in one or more occupations listed in Skill Type 0 Management Occupations or Skill Levels A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) matrix
2. Comprises continuous full-time work experience (or the full-time equivalent for part-time work experience)



Besides my question was whether I should show it as my current job, even though as I put an ending date in my Express entry profile?

Ok let me clarify if you were a student while doing part time it can't be counted and misread that you were a student at part time. If you were not a student you will have to calculate based on number of hours

Your experience must be at least
  • 12 months of full-time work
    • 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours), OR
  • equal amount in part-time hours, such as:
    • 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than one job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours
You can search the forum for people who have done calculations for part time to be counted.

Would you please direct me to the source in immigration law, as the link you posted is from a question with no specific details?
I went through immigration rulings, this forum previous posts as well as eligibility section of both FSW and CEC and all of them have it mentioned for CEC and not FSW?

hey there, As I was reading your post. You might be able to help me with the reference letter. I was working as a part time cook during my study permit from feb2018 to may 2019 and started working full time from 2019 June til now which is on my pgwp.(Same place)So my question is do I need to include and mention the date I was hired during my part time cook as well? which I know it's not gonna be counted. or I need a letter which only include my current position when I started working full time. kindly reply thanks
