Sent passport bus didn't get back any notice

More than a week ago I sent IRCC my passport, tracking number shows that it has been received, but i didn't receive any notice from them, is that normal?

Where are you from? Did they request you to send passport? I was of the understanding that IRCC doesn't accept passports directly as they do it through VAC

I applied from within canada, and sent it to the address they mentioned, do they usually send a notice to tell that they received the passport?

I am assuming you have sent trackable return envelope with the passport? If you did, just look at its tracking info. Expect minimum to no contact by IRCC personals these days.

It used to take 1 to two weeks when things were normal. Can't say anything for now. For now, the only thing you could do is call and ask the time and request if they can do urgent processing. If you have something that is considered really urgent, like a medical procedure and/or parents or a family person that is gravely sick and you have to be there, then they may consider it urgent. Travelling abroad is not considered urgent.
