Hi there-
Are students who applied for student permit after March (May, June, July..) and receive a permit, allowed to enter the border if they have hybrid classes (an online and in person mix)?
I.e. online lectures plus lab work, clinical rotations etc.

thanks!

Im in the same situation now. I have hybrid classes too and My course has only fall intake too.
When did u apply?

and yes they are allowed to enter as they are exempt from the travel restrictions its more safer to have a travel support letter from college which says that your program is hybrid and the clg requires your presence.

No, the above poster has supplied complete mis-information.

Those with study permit approvals after 18th March are NOT exempt. They have to wait till IRCC notifies them that they can travel. They cannot travel and enter now for the fall.

Only those with approvals before 18th March are exempt. Even they can travel only if they have an essential reason to travel.

I don't know where you're getting the misinformation from.

Approvals after 18th March are NOT exempt.

It was mentioned on their webinar conducted by IRCC that students must demonstrate that their travel To Canada is essential :
*Required to attend classes in person*
They also said that the students must have a travel support letter saying the same from a DLI,
I wish I can post the screenshot here.

Yes students must demonstrate that travel is essential, ALONG WITH BEING EXEMPTED (approval before 18th March),

that is,

BOTH the things - APPROVAL BEFORE 18th March AS WELL AS ESSENTIAL TRAVEL - BOTH THESE CONDITIONS HAVE TO BE MET in order to be able to travel.
