Do you have an idea on when IRCC will start to release PPR for people who are outside Canada, we've seen some positive moves from IRCC, as some people are starting to get some GU in their files or the fact of the last draw of FSW, around two weeks ago but nothing is telling us when we will get the PPR's

Any comments, ideas ?

Given the current rate of Covid Cases, I would say by year end or Early next year.
I really don't mind that timeline.

My 6 month will be up by the first week of next month. I'm in no rush really.

Ideally I'll like to be in Canada by January or early February 2021.

It seems IRCC has started issuing COPR to outland applicants. There is at least one confirmed case that has received COPR on July 22, 2020. The travel restriction, however, is still in place. So, I don't know how one can actually land in Canada. Maybe the restriction won't be extended after July 31.

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but American applicants aren't "really" FSW-outland since their cases are processed in Canada and COPR for them have never fully stopped throughout the pandemic.

We should wait untill some true FSW-outland applicants whose VOs are outside North America receive their COPRs before we can expect everything to go back to normal.

I agree - it's not much of a big change. But, COPR for US residents never fully stopped? Are you saying that based on the trackers or anecdotally?

Both, though I'm afraid I forget where I got the anecdote and can't give you any proof. But according to the trackers, there was a US FSW applicant who got his COPR two months ago.

Well, it's not rocket science, to be honest. How could one get PPR if the local visa office is currently closed? It's only rational that IRCC has postponed issuing PPR to outland applicants because there is no place to mail the passport. If there is no need for a counterfoil (visa stamp), however, issuing COPR won't cause a problem.

Raised a web form last month indicating my eligibility, criminal and security has passed. But the agent did not answer my question regarding when my application might be finalised. I guess we can only wait until they resume issuing PPR for outlanders... :(

Yes, according to the IRCC website. People in the US can enter Canada if they plan to settle.
But I am wondering if they have been issuing COPR to US residents. This is probably the only one on the tracker? I wouldn't say confirmed because you cannot verify information that can be updated by anyone.
