Immigration policy will remain fairly consistent under the Conservatives, but they always make it more difficult for immigrants when they are in power. Bill C-24 is a good example of that.
They can always cut immigration numbers as well, because there are some Canadians who think immigration levels are too high. Obviously, post-covid there is a rationale for that as well.
I'm not here to be a debbie downer, but it's important for you guys to know once you're hopefully PRs and future citizens. Conservatives always make life harder for immigrants. And of course, immigration levels should be set first and foremost to the benefit of the country, but we should always support not enacting policies which make it hard for people who want to immigrate.
We don't want to be people who managed to immigrate and then want to close the door on the others who want to follow.
