The only possible explanation might be the workload redistribution to various visa offices throughout Canada to speed up the processing. If it's the case, it doesn't seem to work that much
May I ask if Ottawa is also the office closest to you (as in where they would tell the PA to do landing or interviews)? Or is just a random case processing centre that they brought up?

Have you been able to link your application online? If not, Wouldn't it just be impossible that your file has already been transferred to Ottawa without notification?
Ive tried to link it but unsuccessfully. I guess the ircc replied to the mp's request with a standard answer, without actually going through my application

Well, to me the CPC Ottawa is right there. I live in Ottawa. My file, however, is in the CIO Sydney. I have no idea how the file of our fellow member ended up in Ottawa so early on.

Hey everyone,
Received an email from my MP:
"I spoke to an IRCC officer about your application and they gave me the following information:
The case processing centre Ottawa office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if you and your family members meet the eligibility requirements under the class for which you have applied.
Please note that COVID-19 has had an impact on operations and their ability to respond to and process applications. At this time, IRCC is unable to provide processing for applications.
Currently IRCC is focusing on what they have deemed as priority applications such as Canadians attempting to return to the country, vulnerable populations, and people who perform or support essential services, trying to process those as quickly as possible.
More information regarding the changes to IRCC processing times can be found at the following links:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/service-delivery/coronavirus/general-measures.html

Since they didn't provide any application number, I guess, this is not very helpful. Not sure if IRCC just formally replied to the MP or they are really looking into my documents. Application was received on March 30 according to the post tracking number
Did you initially send it to Sydney, N.S.?

Sorry I think I have quoted the wrong user!

I meant to ask @Dreamer_2019 if Ottawa is the office closest to them (as in where they would tell the PA to do landing or interviews)?

I just wrote to my MP to inquire about the status of our application. It went to Sidney, NS, and was received on March 17th. I'll let you know what comes of it. Should be interesting.

I was thinking if anyone in here used a lawyer to file his/her application. What is the feedback from their lawyers for such ambiguous situation about sponsorship application processing. Lawyers have connections with IRCC stronger than individuals who applied by themselves of course. Any clue???

"We confirm that if not (i.e - not received the AOR1), there is no need to panic as we have received an update that the IRCC is processing Applications received in February and March in the order they were received.

We ask that you please keep us updated and we will do the same"

Above is the response from my lawyers.

The only problem I found with a TRV, when I researched it, is difficulty in finding medical insurance right now with covid. Does anyone know anything like Pacific Blue Cross which will provide medical insurance?
I got 6 months health/life coverage for my wife. It includes covid but not pre existing conditions. Check out destination Canada.

End of the month I'll look into a TRV for her. Do they want police clearances for every country she lived in?
