INDIAN PCC- DOES PRESENT ADDRESS AND PASSPORT ADDRESS NEED TO BE SAME

Hello friends,

A few days back some of the candidates had stated change in issuance of Indian PCC at PSK that present address ad passport address need to be same. else passport holder needs to get the passport updated first with present address and then apply for indian pcc.

Can somebody plz clarify if they have reverted back the changes or we need to go ahead with the new changes ???

No, you do not have to necessarily update the present address in the passport as long as you have address proof for your present address.

Not mandatory to update your new address in your passport but if you do it is beneficial, as PSK issue pcc in 1 day if address on passport is same. Not even in India, i just applied my pcc through BLS in HCI Vancouver, i got my pcc in 1 week only because address in passport and address back home was same.. So its always better to stay updated.. I want to get PCC done for me and my spouse. We are from India, and just received ITA in the 25th Jan 2017 draw.

First of all, neither of our passports have spouse name mentioned. Is it mandatory to update them, before getting PCC?

Further, what address proof do they accept for present address? My spouse has only the bank statement as a proof.

Update: I received my PCC today, for myself, in just half an hour. There was no need to update passport.
Wife's PCC is not started, as she has gone abroad for 2 weeks. Will book her PCC appointment after she arrives here.

No, it does not need to be. Just apply on PSK and create a new id (same email works with new id).

Update: I received my PCC today, for myself, in just half an hour. There was no need to update passport.
Wife's PCC is not started, as she has gone abroad for 2 weeks. Will book her PCC appointment after she arrives here.

Further update: My wife went to the same Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) from where I got the PCC in less than an hour. For her, the process is turning out to be much lengthier. She was told that she would get the PCC only after police verification. About 10 days after the PSK appointment, a policeman visited my home for confirmation of her address, and on the next day, my wife submitted the required documents to the local police station. It has been four days since, but there is no further update on the process.

Does anyone have any idea how much longer it would take for obtaining PCC?

Call the policeman who visited you and check whether they have sent the evaluation to the PSK. If not, follow up with the SP of police station and if yes call up PSK. It was HOLI a couple of days back maybe the file got delayed due to it

Hi...can you plz tell me how long did it take for your wife's PCC... ?? Also, does the PCC document mention any details about address of person. Asking because, my wife's passport address is of her parents hometown (Himachal), and my passport address is of my hometown (Punjab - wherein I will get my PCC from --there i shud get on the same day i guess as per your experience),,,,,,thinking of getting my wife's pcc done from my permanent hometown(punjab) address --(I have marriage certificate and also her aadhaar with my punjab address updated) hope i dont need to change her passport address to my hometown address before pcc.
P.N. -- i stay with my wife in Delhi(work location) for which i dont want to get into pcc for delhi address to keep things simple. Hence , would be going for pcc for myself for my hometown address itself

Hi,
I applied for PCC in India on 11th June’20 and on 25th June’20 u received a message stating that police has submitted an adverse report. I contacted and got to know that since 5 year old verficiation is required and since i am staying at my present address (rented premise) for less than a year, so i need to get one more verification done from my home town i.e. my permanent address. I visited RPO and submitted details of my permament address on 1st July’20. I was told that now verification would be done at my home town but i have received no message about verification inititation. Can some one please help me out that how much more time it will take to get PCC as i have less dates to submit my documents.

I was just working on filling up my PCC details in the form. And i am on the same boat like you. I have given the new address. Hope that is the right thing to do. Please share if you get to know that is not the right way.

Hey,
I want to know that can we apply for PCC directly from SSP office from India rather than BLS. As BLS takes 4 to 6 weeks and directly from India takes only 2 to 3 weeks.

I dont have any idea of BLS since i am in India. But after my ITA, i applied for my PCC in India on 11th June’20 and i hvent received it till date. These people are sucking weird. They dont reply to emails or calls. I have heard that before Covid it used to take 2-3 weeks but as of now scenario is worst.
