Hi everyone.

I am currently on a PGWP working full-time. I have already submitted m e-APR under CEC. However, I found a mistake I have made in 4~5 years ago whilst I was on a study permit.

Under study permit, international students are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during an academic semester, and full-time during an academic break. I am afraid that I actually worked about 25 hours per week on a couple of occasions in the early 2016. Well, after realizing I miscalculated my hours, I did reduce my hours correctly to only work under 20 hours since then. To clarify, I was a full-time student between 2015 fall and 2019 winter. Since then, my work hours per week did not go over 20 hours during any academic semesters.

Is there anything I can do to reduce chance of rejection for my CEC application?

How many times is a "couple of occasions?"

It's most likely that IRCC will not notice at all. It's up to you if you want to include a letter of explanation saying that you found this. Reducing your hours doesn't matter, since it's not an average, it's a per week restriction.

Essentially, it's far better to tell IRCC about an issue like this rather than have them discover it and ask you about it. However, would they discover it? Likely not. But they may...

This is a risk decision only you can make.

Forget about it and don't mention it to anyone ever. That work doesn't count toward CEC, and you are not required to put any paperwork for that either, if any problem was to occur would have occurred during your PGWP application. You will be fine.

And then hope that IRCC doesn't know anything about it, I suppose?

Buddy if its really a problem he would have faced it when applied for PGWP and moreover IRCC will call him as his payslips says that he is working more hours than usual. But now after many years they dont consider there are many ppl who do that way even on PGWP u have excess 8hrs per 2weeks limit on top of 80hrs..There are ppl i have come across worked for 55hrs a week (not back to back once in a while)and got the PR without issues.More the person works more the taxes he pays they say not to cross 20hrs per week and working for extra 5hrs once in a while doesnt create any issue unless that person is doing more often like every one pay check out of 2 in a month...So he dont need to panic..Please dont make ppl to get panic by just posting your own theories...PGWP would have impacted if the IRCC really cares about working 5hrs extra once in a while by mistake..

A couple = 2 occasions in total.
I have seen a lot of international students who actually worked more than 20 hours. Every single one of them got PGWP and was able to also get PR this year.

Though, it is a relatively low risk, I just wanted to see if there are any others with similar situation as me! Thanks for your feedback

Hey. Thanks a lot!
I went to the border to get my PGWP. CBSA officers didn't ask me a lot of questions other than me being a full-time student.

I think I will not be sending LOE for myself. I will keep you updatd!

dont worry aboit 25 hr a week for a couple of time
from 1st january to 31st december, the hour average might be 20/week
you were allow to work more than 20 hr in holidays (summer/winter break),
by the way you are now PGWP working full-time, it means it did not affect you. you were already evaluated in that case

By the way, I only received my PGWP for 1.5 years due to my passport expiry date.
I had my passport extended last month. I would like to get my PGWP extended.
Do you think I should not extend it and just apply for Bridge Work Permit since IRCC officer may re-evaluate my PGWP?

You were already evaluated.
Apply for your PGWP extension, IRCC is working so slow.
as @RAMAAA91 said, many people work more than 20 hrs a week. your over worked just 2 weeks many years ago.

One more details here, I received my initial PGWP at the border from CBSA not from an IRCC officer. Will this impact my pgwp extension?

no impact
when expire the 1,5 permit?
do it online.
When I called CIC, they told me to apply via paper for PGWP extension. My PGWP expires at the end of this year. So I have a couple more months before applying for it
