for people who are still waiting for your COPR, you still have hope. for me, the passports came back with no PR visa/no COPR, not even any note from CPC Ottawa telling me what's going on. three weeks after getting passports back, i am still waiting for a response from IRCC. I wonder if this is because my medical expired mid April. Anybody got medicals extended by IRCC and got PR eventually? Or anybody starts to go through another medical exam? in either situation, please share your experience with me.

Spousal sponsorship. My wife is Canadian citizen.
PPR: March 3
PP photocopy sent: March 5
Received by CPC Ottawa: March 12
No Response.

Something helpful for people perhaps: I was able to get through to the IRCC by telephone by doing a three-way call from my wife's phone, who has a Canadian number. It took two or three times, I don't remember, to finally get through, because on the first or second call, at the end of the menu, it would just say no one was available to assist, and then hang up on us. But finally was able to get through to an agent. He told me my application had already been approved, but that he saw no record of them having received my passport. He gave me the e-mail address for CPC-CTD-Ottawa, I e-mailed them, they responded (to my surprise, and asked for my tracking number). At first they said they had no record of receiving my passport photocopy either, and asked to confirm the tracking number and the address I'd sent it to. I did so, and at this point they responded with a generic e-mail (the font had changed), and said they had my passport (not photocopy, which is what I sent them). I followed up and asked if they were sure, and haven't heard back. That was June 5.

I would love to send them a strongly worded letter via web form, but not sure if it would do much good. Paid over a thousand dollars for this application (not to mention additional fees for mailing these docs, plus the self-addressed envelope), and I see I'm far from the only one they treat with zero urgency, as if they were store clerks telling me pudding was out of stock, and not government agents directly impacting my entire life and livelihood.

Appreciate the information, thanks. And completely agree/feel your frustration. The lack of any transparency about what is actually going on is infuriating.

3 months of waiting, it can’t still just be “sitting in the printing queue”...

I am in the exact same boat. I freaked out when they said they didn't have my package. Then when I sent the confirmation they said they did have the passports (instead of copies that I sent). It seems like they are not even trying to process people with passport copies sent at this time and don't care overall.

As per the agent that I talked yesterday, they will do the landing electronically and it will automatically change your status and visa status. He told me to keep my eyes on the PR application online. If it’s even slightly changed that means the electronic landing is done.

I don’t what to do with PR card but hopefully what he said is all right and we don’t have to do anything.
Hi my electronically Landing is done but I didn't get any written confirmation from them? Do you have any idea on the written confirmation or PR card processing?

I'm also quite upset about this. I sent via Fedex on April 1. When I contacted them via webform in early May, they said they don't show it being received yet, despite Fedex saying it was delivered.

For the record, I sent my docs to:
CPCP - PR Visa
PASSPORTS SUBMISSION
365 Laurier Ave. West
OTTAWA, ON K1A1L1

Agreed with the notion that so many of us are literally planning our lives around this. My partner (a Canadian citizen) and I are trying to purchase a house, and are supposed to close on July 24th. Looks like that's not going to happen. How long are we supposed to put our lives on hold? Not to mention, the border closure has kept us (and many, many others) apart for months!

I can't wrap my head around the reason for accepting new applications and thousands of dollars while not processing applications which are practically complete!! And to boot, we get zero answers to our inquiries!! Talk about a poorly run operation ... I can understand a month-long hiccup while you figure out how to operate under these circumstances. But this is now just pathetic.

Unfortunately I think we’re a relatively small number of people who are also now all over the six months. My cynicism says if they focus on newer applications, it helps the 80% within six months metric.

What I don’t get that when PPR is sent, all checks are complete. So why can’t they mass approve people who were already sent PPR via the new electronic process? Who cares if we sent paper to Ottawa by now!

This exactly!!
once PPR is sent, you are basically all but approved. And as far as I know, the case manager who was reviewing your file is done with it, and it is then just a paperwork/printing of CoPR job.
Can’t work out why it can’t just be completed.

It nuts they should get people their passports back. Then process other applications they have in order they came in. I applied in September/October, sent passport copy early march and nothing since. Meanwhile people who applied in Nov/Dec/January are getting COPR. Even if they would post some sort of an update on their site or provide some information on whats going on it would help. Im sure their call centre is likely getting hammered will people asking whats going on because of their poor communication on this.

How come they prioritize NOV/DEC/JAN? I am exactly on the same boat as you, and nothing changed so far, not even update on my application status..

October 2019
I just spoke to a CIC agent who helped look into my application. For some context, my latest online application update was back in October when medicals passed. Other than that, everything else is listed as in progress. I received the PPR in early March and had passport copies delivered to Ottawa March 9th.

She said the final application decision is still pending, but everything else is pretty much passed (medical, background checks, etc) and that everything looks good and on the right track. It seems like it’s up to the visa office to finalize the application (in my case Edmonton) and that I just have to wait.

Also, she mentioned that there are several options available to agents in terms of CoPR/landing: some send passports back without CoPR, some with CoPR and some just electronic landing right away I guess. Hard to tell if it’s up to the agent’s discretion or VO guidelines.

The key message is to be patient and keep waiting and that they’ll get to it ASAP. All the IRCC operations, including the call center, is slowly starting to ramp up now according to the agent so hopefully they’ll get to us with passport copies soon :)
we got our PPR on 8 March, passport delivered to Ottawa on March 12 and then on May 27 we suddenly got ADR - form 5669 for main applicant and spouse. They say in their request letter: "We have begun processing your application and in order to make a decision.." How come this be, I just wonder. Why was this PPR for on March 8 if on May 27 they write "we have begun processing". Got GCMS 10 days ago and everything is passed, except security which is not started. All they are doing is beyond logics. I am clueless what to expect next.
By the way, on June 12 passport returned back from Ottawa with nothing inside - no visa, no COPR, no even a tiny letter. So, this CIC wicked game has no end, I guess.
