Dear all,
I have a question that I am a bit worrying about.
Does the fact that I will be coming back to Canada 7 months after soft landing affect the citizenship application that I will be applying in 3 years??
Thank you. I hope seniors could help me out too.

Only thing I can think of is you should apply 3 years from when you get back and not 3 years from when you landed as PR unless you have time in Canada under temporary status before becoming PR.

I spent just a little less than 2 years outside Canada after my first landing. It's not easy to uproot your settled life. I had no problem with my citizenship application getting approved. Off course I completed the required 1095 days before applying for citizenship and also renewed my PR card when that expired. Just make sure you keep the records of your entry-exits and declare them.

Hey, I wrote exactly what my situation was that I was winding up affairs before moving to Canada. Every person is unique and they understand it. Also as you are not taking credit for the period which is spent outside Canada, they don't much worry about it because you yourself are declaring that you were not in Canada.

Yea of course, I get it. So it shouldnt be an issue staying 7 months outside Canada. Btw were you aked any questions about this at the airport on your arrival the second time?. like why were you outside Canada for this long?

No probs whatsoever. Stay calm and keep living your life. Even if you are asked when re-entering for good state whatever the reasons were for that and youl'll be good. Just keep count of the days when applying for citizenship.

Hey Landwarrior,
I hope you are doing fine.
After staying outside Canada for almost 2 years, did you stay inside Canada for 3 years straight?
