Unique Client Identifier (UCI) CAN0000XXXXXXXX

Hi Everyone,

I am confused with my UCI as seen from this screenshot :

On this screenshot, clearly it is stated underneath the Unique Client Identifier (UCI) column, my UCI is CAN0000XXXXXXXX.

However on CIC website a UCI is either XXXX XXXX or XX XXXX XXXX

If anyone out there can please explain this i will very much appreciate it.

The thing with CAN is NOT an UCI. It is some kind of substitution. Why r u worried about it? You will be assigned with UCI later on.

Generally it appears in some days. I have seen similar problems reported by some users however got sorted in couple of days.

In my opinion, it is visible in all application. Only it is mandatory if you are already having any Canadian documents(means you have applied earlier). If not then, though visible in EE profile, ignore it.

The field is not mandatory. Leave it blank. That's what I did. don't worry, you will be assigned a UCI anyway later on.

From my previous applications with IRCC, I have been already assigned a UCI number. However, since last month that I submitted my EE application, the temporary UCI number starting with CAN has remained unchanged in my profile.

Do you think it is normal? Does anyone has a similar experience ?

I created an express entry profile today and faced the same thing. Googling it led me to this page. This leads me to believe that this is normal because I clearly entered my UCI when making the profile. I also was not asked for spouse UCI and the system has generated a CAN0000... for her too while she also has a UCI.
