Doubt it, seems too early.
Doesn't seem too early to me. With several reports that people are getting lazy and not ready to go back to work because of the bailout money they are receiving from the government, the general draw might resume as early as this week. They said jobs are opening up and people aren't taking them. There's already a notice of upgrade on the IRCC Twitter and I'm tilting my thinking towards a pool update. Fingers crossed though

It will be going to lockdown again in ontario.
borders are closed till 21st June.
Wage subsidy has been extended till august.
CERB (Emergency fund)is available till october.
Those sitting outside canada have no clue about the current situation of canada.
They are not able to maintain health system as it is already overburdened.
None of you sitting outside canada have idea whats going inside canada & unemployment is on top,
Billion turn over companies have filed bankrupcy.
In ontario no school classes will occur in this whole year moreover International students will also study online this fall ( Sep 2020- Dec2020) means they can not come to canada this year.
Have some patience if you have a good score then you will get you ITA 2-3 months late

these jobs not professional jobs. no one can survive with $2000 per month. mortgage for simple home is over $2000. Rent for apartment is $1600+. Taxes will have be paid on $2000 received. Very gloom for world canada will feel it more
No FSW dude is gonna fly right away after an ITA. Countries such as England, Italy, Spain, India, Singapore, South Korea, Some african countries, Scandinavia are all too victims of this Covid 19. The whole world is into this and once economy reopens by June across the world, everything will gradually fall in place
On Avg, if a dude gets an ITA now, it ll take minimum 9 months to reach Canada.
9 months from now is a sufficient time to recover (to a large extent at least) from the depression. Also, many are temp layoffs and will be back in action sooner. The world has realized that many die due to poverty than Corona. So I guess nations will follow the Sweden format. Plus recovery is also higher than during Feb or March
So I guess by June FSW draws will happen
If still Canada is not interested in calling FSW (until maybe Vaccine), all must embrace to stay back and help their mother nations prosper

If the second wave talks turn out to be true. It is actually not out of the question that it will actually be a worse situation in 9 months, than it is now

Not related to this thread. Based on the way you write your posts, do you mind if I ask where you are from? I am guessing Chennai, Tamil Nadu because that's exactly where I am from and I get that vibe from you. The number of 'dudes' on your posts seems to indicate that strongly.

That does not true at all. What I'm seeing from some people is that they are only working to earn up to 1000$ so that they can keep CERB. This is not because they are lazy. It's because if they tried working as many hours as possible, they would barely make 2000$ a month right now. Because there are no customers. It has nothing to do with lazy. The few full time positions that we could offer, where taken instantly by senior staff. People want money

What points to that update having anything to do with a pool change? It fits right on the day that they would look at the pool distribution for another pnp and cec draw. Last pool distribution information was on the 12th, a Tuesday, before a pnp draw on Thursday and cec on Friday. So it seems to keep going

My two questions are always, when is the U.S and India opening up?

Most FSWs are from there, and IRCC will look at whether candidates from there will be able to gather their documents, complete procedures, and submit their applications in time. Lockdowns in both countries are probably going to be extended, or at least they won't in parts be lifted enough for it to be clear whether people can get the needful done.

That's why i think July is a more realistic timeline for resumption of all program draws.

But i'm not ruling it out that there could be a general draw before, i just think it's a bit less likely. I also wonder how low they can go on with cut-off scores with CEC draws before people start really complaining.

It doesn't really. It's just an update stating they are doing site maintenance on the IRCC web site.

I doubt that this update provide any information about the upcoming draws. You would encounter such updates on login page probably every two weeks.
Though people have observed that the date of system maintenance and the date which display the candidates distribution according to the crs score during draw were usually same.

I saw same update about the system maintenance last week too, but there was no draw.

I hope this week we will surely be witnessing a draw.

Saying they are waiting on India and US to open up is like saying the whole immigration system was built around these two nations. The latter is not the case so where's the sense in waiting for them to open up?

How does the update has to do with the pool?
The date of the last update usually coincides with the date on the updated crs distribution list. By deduction, they are updating the crs table before they do the draw. They did an update last week and I think it resulted in enabling people to apply for CERB on the canadian website. I reckon that this week's update is for the pool.

It's common sense, Tim.

I have access to the pool's distribution, i know how many invitations i'm going issue in a round, i how who's going to qualify, and i know their countries of residence.

If let's say 70% of invitations are going to candidates in India and the U.S, and both countries are still under lockdowns.

How does it make sense for me to go ahead, instead of waiting for them to open up?

I know it might seem unfair to the others, but you look at the practicality of the majority.

It's the only reason there have been CEC only draws.
