My wife and I are filling out the application pack for her to sponsor me to move to her in Alberta, but I'm getting a bit confused with what we need. The website I saw shows she needs to fill out 3 forms (IMM 1344, IMM 5532, and IMM 5476), and I the applicant fill out my 5 forms (IMM 008, 008DEP, 5406, 5669, 5476). But when I open up the checklist for the packet, it shows some of the forms as both the applicant and sponsor need to fill the out. I don't want to miss anything so I'm trying to figure out exactly what needs to be filled out by each of us.

Also, we had a consultation with an immigration lawyer, who was helpful but to hire them to help us fill everything out is more than we could afford to pay. Are there any free services or lower cost advocates/reps that we could use?

There are no free services. Recommend you either shell out a few thousand for a reputable immgration lawyer or do it yourself. We've seen too much wrong / bad advice here from low fee consultants. Stay away from them.

Suggest you join the Family Sponsorship section of ths forum. This is where you will find all / most discussions on spousal sponsorship.
