This is their response:

Good day,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Please note that your passport has been received at our office and will be returned as soon as the process is completed.

Your documents will be returned using the provided return envelope. If you have followed the instructions on the website and kept note of the tracking number, you should be able to follow its delivery on the courier website.

We thank you for your patience.

Thanks for setting this up.

My passport photocopy was received March 12.
No update since then.

Also got an email back from the CPC, but it was very generic and not informative in any way regarding my case.

Guess it's a waiting game at this chaotic time.
For you applicants who had to send your actual passport, I don't see how they could keep your passports for too long.

Here is what I got, apparently they are only maintaining critical functions.

Please note that a longer delay may be experienced to process your inquiry as only critical functions are being maintained at this time by IRCC offices.

They have our passports. I assume that's a critical function to process and send it back to us.
