OP's dog will have to travel in the luggage compartment and needs to plan accordingly. There's a ton of information online with regards to this and that's where I would suggest the OP start. One big tip is to buy the carrier / crate the dog will be carrying way in advance and have the dog spent time sleeping / staying in this container to get used to it and feel comfortable in it ahead of the trip.
Brilliant suggestion!

There could be a debate whether animals shipped by air get looked after better than humans in economy !

"Is it stressful?"
Answer
Whilst the initial part of the trip – arrival at JCS, separation from the owner, vet examination, X-ray, delivery to airline and subsequent delivery to the aircraft- is undoubtedly stressful for the pet, once they are in the aircraft and used to the noise, they will just tend to sleep through the flight. They will realise that not only can they not get out, but nothing can get into their crate, so they are safe. In the absence of stimuli the pet will “shut down” and sleep for the flight. Cats especially will not be bothered by the flight. Experience from working on imports at the Animal Reception Centre will teach you that pets getting off of a long-haul flight look better than their owners!

Though it does not talk about long haul flights in particular , however it seems pets find it OK once inside the luggage compartment.

Hello,

I am planning to get my Labrador (5yrs.) to Toronto from New Delhi via direct Air Canada flight. The flight duration is 14-15 hours.

Has anyone brought their dog using the same flight? Or should I change to another flight with layover? Is the direct flight safe?

They said that no one will check on the dog once he has boarded. I’m really confused and scared.

Hello, would like to know if you end up bringing your dog here. I am working on bringing my two year Lab here and would need your advise. Looking forward to hear from you.

what if your dog is not happy to relocate u gonna bring him back ? dogs have emotions they can be home sick.
Will be a soft landing then for the dog and the dog will have near 3 years to decide if it wants to relocate back to Canada in order to keep its PR status

Dogs are adaptable even when faced with their first snow, promise of treats and food they are happy.

I am international student in the second year and my mother is coming to visit me as she got her trv approved.
Will she be allowed to bring our dog with her directly or permission from IRCC is required?

IRCC does not deal dog imports. You need permission from CFIA.
