PPR process is taking longer than usual. Need suggestion

Hello.
I had applied for PR on Sept 2019.
I got the AOR on 9th Sept
Medical passed on Oct 12th.
My background check went to processing on Jan 8th 2020
I updated my Current Employment letter on Jan 20th which had included my JOb duties.
I received 2 Ghost updates on Feb 12th 2020.
But since then Its been a week but I havent heard any thing.
I have seen people get their PPR soon after the last ghost update.
My Work permit expires in May.
Should I apply for Work permit Extension ?

You can apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit at any time from now until your work permit expires. I would recommend gathering your documents and applying for a BOWP in late March/early April.

After applying, you'll be on implied status until your BOWP application is approved or your PR application is approved.

You've been waiting for a little over 5 months, still 2-3 weeks for the 6 months. Buckle up and wait because it could easily be another 3-4 months. I'd suggest wait a bit more and apply for a Bridging OWP if you don't get it within a month or 1½ months

What could be the reason for another 3 to 4 months ?
I received Backgoround check IP2on Jan 12th and I got a ghost update last week.
I am not sure whats going on now

It is not uncommon for applications to take up to 9-10 months. There is no way to know.
It is a good idea to call IRCC and inf out the status of your criminality/medicals/background/security ;

Sometimes some files are not updated for several months so it's really hard to say.

You just have to hope for the best but expect the worst.
