Was the request from official cic account?Did you see it in your gckey? If yes, i dont see any harm in sending the photos via email.
Yes, they sent email and also sent in GCKEY...BTW, just FYI, I did not get any "file transfer to VO" notification at all.

Yeah, it’s weird but it seems like your file is already moved to Mississauga and somehow the notification was missed.
I think that because of today’s notification they asked the send the photos to Mississauga not to Sydney. So that means you file might be in Mississauga. Not sure if i am right.

Even i did not get any email on that. but what i did is i called CIC today to ask what is goin on with my file. and they said it is moved to Mississauga.

i also told them i did not get any email so they suggested to check on spam or junk files

Application received Dec 23, AoR Jan 10, BIL Jan 23. Waiting on MR as well. When was your file sent to AVO?
My application was transferred to AVO on Jan 14. I heard it takes 5 months to get MR from AVO. They are currently just attending to August files. This is my timeline -
App recd - Dec 6
AOR1 - Jan 3
BM req. - Jan 4/
SA - Jan 6
AVO transfer - Jan 14
BM done - Jan 16
AOR2?? - Jan 24 - ECAS PA side Changed from in process to app recd
Jan 30 - ECAS PA side Changed from app recd back to in process - so technically, this is the date AVO started working on my file.

Just received a request to send "marriage photos", to CPC-Mississauga...
Had included as part of package but they have asked again

It says we can send by email now (email address given).
Anyone have any suggestions whether it is true,we can send by email for this request?
Submitted 12 photos by email along with a cover letter describing what is happening in each photo.

The request letter mentioned ritual names in Punjabi (Lavan phere, Anand Kalraj etc) but we are from South India and don't have the exact same rituals :)
So I described the rituals giving them their equivalent Hindi names (Chaar Phere, mangalsutra tying etc) which I hadn't done originally. Fingers crossed they accept these now.

Interesting to see what they will send me as we had no traditional wedding. The cover letter was a good idea, as they have a generic understanding of countries' cultures/traditions.
When you sent the wedding photos, did you write on the back of them as they had asked in the checklist? or did they just want more?

Yes, I did write on the back of each photo...This is what they asked. Note they say "marriage photos" and not just "wedding photos" :)

Marriage photos: If you were married according to the rites, customs, and/or traditions of India, please submit printed photos of the principal applicant and the sponsor with relatives and friends. Photos submitted should include photos of the wedding ceremony (Lavan Phere and/or Anand Karaj) and customary celebrations held before and afterwards (Mehendi and/or Chuda and/or Milni and/or Doli and the wedding reception). Photos should also include pictures taken of the principal applicant and the sponsor together on other occasions, either before and/or after the wedding

No, I'm talking about Outland only. Outland applicants send their applications to Sydney, NS. From there they are transferred to visa offices, and most of them are sent to Mississauga, which is considered to be the fastest one. For some applications in Mississauga from the previous months it took less than 70 days from Received by Sydney to Decision Made.
Hello, just wondering do all files move from Sydney NS after we got Medical and biomatrics and sponsor's approval? As main I got SA, MEDICAL ANX BIOMETRICS And still at Sydney NS. is anyone know rest processing will be without transfer to any other VO?

As far as I can tell, all are eventually moved to another VO. But timeline not always the same and sometimes it seems applicants do not get notification (although that could also be people missing emails). If you're december applicant, it's too soon (in my opinion) to worry about it.

Once an application is received by Sydney, they enter info into their system. At some point later (currently it takes around 3 weeks) a sponsor gets AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) email to their inbox. At this point a sponsor or a PA can link an application to their online account. Either of them can do it. Here's the detailed explanation about that https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/how-to-link-an-application-to-cic-account-step-by-step-instruction.619724/
After AOR is issued, CIC starts processing sponsor's part of the application, i.e. they determine if a sponsor is eligible to be a sponsor. If the sponsor is approved, ECAS shows "Decision Made" under sponsor's part (on the left) and an email is sent to sponsor's inbox notifying of the decision.
At that time PA's part of an application starts and PA is requested to pass biometrics (this is done in the closest VAC) and medical exam for PA and all dependents listed in the application.
Once all that is done (or sometimes even before that) an application is transferred to a visa office responsible for PA's country. That also might be Mississauga which is considered to be the fastest one. A sponsor receives an email from CIC notifying of the transfer, and some time later ECAS starts showing "we started processing your application" under PA's part and a PA receives an email. This email is considered AOR2. Depending on your visa office you might have to wait for a few months before you can see this on ECAS.
And the final step is decision made under PA's part on ECAS and passport request.
Hello, Thank you for your detail informative post that gives most of our answers! I just have question regarding file transfer after AOR1, Medical and Biomatrics request also I have received sponsor's approval and I have luck to speak to IRCC and she told me my file is at SYDNEY NS showing processing. Is that something new? Or this can be possible for others too?
