Hi,

Anyone knows, if total hours for CEC is 1560 in 1 year. My friend has total 1560 hours but in two months he has less hours per week ex:10,15 or 20 but total in 1 year he has 1560 which is required for Canadian experience class pr.

I think he is meeting the requirement. has anyone face this ?

thanks

No - he won't meet the 1 year requirement. He must have 52 separate weeks with at least 30 hours of work experience. He cannot carry over extra hours from one week to make up for a lack of hours in other weeks. He will need to work additional weeks to make up the difference.

Thanks for reply,

The problem is his work permit expire in April 15 and 1 year with 30 hours per week complete on April 1st week. To extend work permit bridge work permit he has to submit the PR file. otherwise cannot extend work permit. So file has to be submit in march so that at least April has can submit the bridge work permit.

He need to submit file before two months, to extend the work permit.

any suggestions...

This is incorrect information.
The work experience requirement clearly states 1 year and 1560 hours. These hours could be part time or full time. In conclusion if you have been employed for 1 year and the total cumulative hours are 1560 hours, then the candidate meets the CEC work experience requirement.

Wrong. A person cannot claim more than 30 hours per week towards the 1560. There is no "total cumulative hours". They cannot work part-time for 2 months and make it up by working over 30 hours in the other 10 months.

Your understanding of the rules is wrong. That is not how the calculation is performed. Someone with only a year of experience who has a mix of full time and part work experience does not have 1 year of work experience under either CEC or FSW and will be refused if they apply.

You must have both 1560 hour of work experience as well as 52 weeks of full time or equivalent work experience.

That is correct everything else in my comment remains the same , except that a person cannot claim more than 30 hours per week.

So if someone has been working part time for 18 months , and has gained the 1560 hours , what would be your say on that ?

If someone has been employed for only 1 year and they have one or more part time weeks of work experience, then it is impossible for them to have 1 year of work experience. They would need to work more than a full year to meet the 1 year requirement.

That's is possible. But that's not what this thread is discussing. This thread is a discussion about working for a year only and qualifying within that period.

Hi, thanks for comments,

the actual question is - his work experience for 1 year complete on 3 rd April and work permit expire on 17 April. so he cannot wait to 3rd April and apply for express entry. because draw need 2-3 week to pick up file.

can he submit express entry in march so his profile will pick up and he has enough time to apply for bridge work permit.

Or can he apply bridge work permit just on received eta?

summary is - 1 year work experience and work permit expires on same week in april. to stay in canda he needs bridge work permit. and to apply bridge work permit he need to submit pr file.
