I received notification that the details shared on webform has been sent to the respective office. I did give a call to IRCC to check back on the same as well as timelines. The nice agent on the other side, did acknowledge the error & told it has been passed on to the VO & would get back in 30 days. Hopefully we get the desired result. Fingers crossed!
After almost 2 months, my wife's SOWP got approved with the extended expiry date (As was requested). So relieved!

Hello guys,

I really need your advice in here.

My partner was admitted for a Master's degree program at Canada university in January 2018. I decided to accompany him and we came to Canada in August 2018. He got a study permit and I got an open work permit both with an expiry date of December 31, 2019. Meanwhile, we decided that we wanted to stay in Canada and therefore we submitted an application on Express Entry pool in April 2019.

We received the invitation to apply for Residence Permit in May 2019 (me being the primary applicant). We applied on June 22, 2019. The estimated completion for our application according to the CIC progress bar was December 22, 2019. We recognized that there is a chance that there would be delays past our estimated completion date due to backlog, so that’s why decided to apply for work permits extension in parallel with our PR application.

He applied for Postgraduate Work Permit (PGWP) whereas I for an extension of open work permit.

Today, his PGWP was approved (until January 2023) whereas mine was refused on the basis that my partner is not employed in a skilled occupation, which is very odd as he was not requested to provide any proof he is employed, let alone in any of the National Occupation Classification Skill, when he applied for his PGWP.

I told my employer about the situation and she told me that i should stop working until we figure it out.

I also realized today that I could have applied for Bridging Open Work Permit, which would have meant that this would not happen.

I dont know guys what to do.Should I apply for restoration? Should i contact CIC and explain my sitiation? Should I get a lawyer? Also, will this affect our PR application which is expected to be approved soon.

Help me guys :(

Hi Everyone am a newbie here with canada visa terms and all. Please help me out.
I recently got a work permit W-1 worker visa with my current employer. And my spouse also got a similar one.
1) So how to identify if its a open work permit or a closed work permit.
2) Can I apply for other employers in Canada and work for them (am still in India and my employer doesnt have a position opening for me soon in Canada)

Hi everyone, need some help here. So I am going to apply for SOWP from outside Canada basis on my wife who is in Canada already. We also have a 3 year old kid. Which category will she fall into and how much funds should i ideally show when I also have my daughter accompanying.

Additionally I have travelled to UK back in 2008 from my previous company, but silly me, my passport expired and then I renewed it and torn away my last passport without realizing if this could be important in the future. Now i am confused if I should disclose my travel to UK or No because i have nothing to prove that now.

It will be really great if someone can provide some professional advice and list down the documents that will be required for me and my spouse in applying SOWP.

Thank you so much in advance

Hi Fkl and seniors,
I am from India and my wife is Canada recently completed her studies in Nursing and got eligibility to write RN in Ontario, waiting for her PGWP for 3 years.I applied for SOWP in Oct-2015 while I was in Qatar and got rejected in May 2016 ,again we submitted an application for SOWP in Dec-2016 which too got rejected. The reason for for both rejections are below as per the GCMS notes.
GCMS 1:-
Applicant is accountant in Qatar.
am not satisfied that this move is logical. The applicant would be leaving their job in Qatar, and has not shown ties to home country, I am not satisfied that they would be likely to return to CoR at the end of the authorized stay. Refused.
GCMS 2:-
Applicant is an accountant manager in Kerala and enrolled in masters of business admin (MBA) under Venkateshware. Given the addition of the pending end to spouse's permit in 3 months, and no PGWP, I am not satisfied of the BF and concerns with the duration of stay. The applicant would be leaving their job and studies, I am not satisfied that they would be likely to return to CoR at the end of the authorized stay. Application refused.
Being refused for two times I am now scared to apply again,I humbly request you people's advice on this as my wife and me are separated for 2 years now after our marriage and now no where and no idea what to do.
hi, i want to know about your status as i am in same situatioin now so what was the solution u got for the above one ?

Hello experts, My Spouse's application got an update today Jan 21, 2020 and it notified me with a bio-metrics correspondence letter. She had her medical passed on January 14, 2020. But there is no response after this update. What does this mean? Any Idea. What are the chances to get an approval ?

Thanks
