NOC 4011 or 4021

Hello Guys,

I have the same issue. I worked as Assistant Lecturer for 20 months in a college 2.5 years ago and after that I came to Canada for my Master's degree. Now I'm planning to apply for PR through FSW.

While applying for study permit I filled work history section as "Assistant Lecturer". But now, although my main duties listed on the work experience letter meets NOC 4021 but the title as "Assistant Lecturer" is not listed on example titles on CIC website. As I have previously submitted all my information to CIC at the time when I applied for my study permit 2.5 years before So I think it's not appropriate to manipulate my work experience title. So guys can you please provide me some suggestions on this matter? So is it okay if I go for NOC 4021 ?

Hi all, I have a confusion regarding my work experience
I did my master of engineering from University which is for 3 years and also worked as Teaching Assistant during period and i am still working in same university as Assistant Professor after my masters for 2 years , so my total work experience will me counted as 5 years ? or my experience during Masters will be considered as Part time ?

I joined as lecturer and promoted to HoD with all duties matching 4011. I only had B.Tech then. Later I did my Masters in engg. and in another 4161 NOC (1 year exact on date of appl). so kept 4011 as primary. Thought?

Think for vocational training college you should go for 4021. Overselling is an issue, however both come under NOC A type. If you are feeling less confident then you can write in an LoE.

In my case, I worked at a private university and got the duties signed by my former colleague. Substantiated with all employment letters and payslips.

Now I came to know that I can claim points for the fourth job which I didn't mentioned at that time. So I am dilemma whether I can get points or not. Because except 1 job that I mentioned at that time , other 2 job were done for below 1 yr of time period so I can't get points for those 2 job but if I add my fourth job I can get points for work experience of 3 years. However I clearly mentioned about fourth job on resume that I send to high commission while applying for study Visa but didn't mentioned on form provided by CIC due to lack of space.

However, I mentioned about my fourth job while applying Post graduate work permit. So I don't know it will be on my records or not on CIC.

Go with NOC4011 if you have the title asst prof and have done teaching duties in university or college affiliated to university. NOC4021 is for vocational training instructor, mostly ITI/ diploma/ trade ans skill training instructors.
Personally, I joined as a lecturer (1yr in teaching) in a deemed university and later got promoted to Head of department (1yr in management and continued teaching). The experience letter showed HoD title only and was accepted by the immigration officers. I submitted under NOC 4011.

mine was PR through express entry. I'm no longer working in education industry. I always wanted to get into active engineering industry. Landing a good opportunity takes time. I had to job hop through 4 jobs to land a decent job in the last 10months in canada. Anyways teaching position is different here compared to in India (where i come from). I have a PG in engineering, but there are certain skills and culture to learn about canada which takes time and cant be inherently instantly applied on arrival.
