I am from Mumbai,India. I am already very well settled in India with permanent secured job in Nationalised bank.My bro staying in Canada from couple of years having PR wants me to settle in Canada.I am single.30yrs.

I am damn confused.Leaving well settled job and moving to Canada??? Will I get a good job in Canada? Will I get in Banking sector?

Is moving to Canada worth it???

This what's called a cold hell, the comparison goes exactly like this:
Would you stay in your decent comfortable home country and suffer of its circumstances that affect everybody there and continue with your plans using all the connections you know to build a life?
OR
Come to Canada and work in McDonalds or Tim hortans and live a poor life facing racism and suffering of you own circumstances alone???

This country is not worth a $ to be spent or invest to come and live in it. My sincere advise to everyone is to run away!! this country is extremely racist. We will keep applying for jobs and you will try to do anything to secure food but at the end of the day all doors will shut in your face just because your not white and your name is not John or Micheal.

If you look like them you will pass otherwise if your looks is different than them you will be judged badly in everything you do.
The government wants to come as an eng. or a doctor and then tells you ohhh your qualifications are rubbish!! you can only work here as taxi diver.
Trust me Canadians HATE immigrants its shameful on them to be called an immigrant in the case of a canadian might look like an immigrant.

Point 1 is funny, because you don't seem to have experienced half the red tape you get around in India like getting simple stuff sorted out like your hydro bill or bank accounts. Getting your social insurance number in Canada is a 5 minute process while a similar process in India, you need to go in and out of at least 2 different offices.

Point 2 is hilarious.
I wonder what you must be smoking to assume the crime rates in any city in Canada being comparable to that in India. There are good and bad neighbourhoods in every country and city. The chances of you being murdered or robbed are far lower in Canada than a similarly sized city or town in India or the US for that matter. Corruption is also a lot less. You also come across as a racist with your comments about `other people`.

Point 3 seems like you are having a hard time adjusting and creating a new life in Canada. Not everyone else is having the same experience. I have better friends here than I did where I lived before. Even strangers are way nicer in Canada than any city in India.

Point 4 seems more like a criticism of India than Canada. If you cannot get a job in India based on your Canadian experience, how is that your Canadian employer's fault?

Point 5 is a little nuanced. There are higly ranked schools and less ranked schools. University-level though it all equalizes and teaching is a lot more effective for most programs in Canada compared to most universities in India.

I totally agree. Coming to Canada would be a big mistake. You will be treated like a 2nd class citizen here and will not be valued as a human being. Canada is full of illusions and when you will fall back on your feet, you will realize that all your efforts weren't worth it.
First of all, life is very expensive. Dairy products are extremely limited and outrageously unaffordable. If you like yogurts, you will have to make a special budget for that. Cheeses are very limited too and rather disgusting. There is a monopoly here so that a small group of farmers can live well at the detriment of the regular families or single individuals. For example, a bottle of milk is almost at $3 now. Alcohol is taxed at the maximum rate so it will be hard to find a bad bottle of wine under $8 ! Basic products, such as bread, vegetables or fruits are especially expensive too. So if you want to eat well, you 'd better be rich ! Then, you will feel tremendously lonely as Canadian are not 'the warmest people on earth' ! I guess it goes with the climate. Finally, it's a country full of rules, paperwork , and bureaucracy. Things don't change fast ! So, in the end, what is really good here ? Yes, the immensity and beauty of nature and Dollorama, of course, that allows new immigrants to survive on a low budget ! The previous liberal government has imposed a 15% tax on people who are not yet admitted as permanent resident when buying in Ontario (for the most part). I Don't know, but to me, that's called DISCRIMINATION ! but hopefully, with the new Ford 'S government, that could change and be eliminated. How would Canadians feel if your country applies a tax on them just for buying a home or a condo ? They would probably think that it's not fair, right ?
So the bottom line, unless you are really in a desperate situation, it's not worth coming to Canada.

You paid high taxes, but what did you get in return?

Good insight.. But will you be moving back 100% on October? Or do you know someone who returned after spending a year or two with no plans to ever come back?

I see similar posts from people in initial years about things being so bad, but later when I check their profiles, I notice that they have moved on and be active in citizenship forums. There is a thread about someone struggling so much in winter, and by the way he had posted, you would have expected him to run from this place. But he still seem to be in Canada discussing about C-6 and never cared to respond back to his old post on what he finally decided despite many people requesting him of his whereabouts.

2. I have been to India, worked and lived there in Delhi. I've lived in Europe, Middle East and Asia. I can say without shadow of a doubt that whilst I had a nice life in India there is no comparison on so many levels between Canada and India.
3. You're comparing free public education with private education - I'm assuming you weren't at a private school?
4. 'most indians cld affird to send children 2 private schools' - you are joking right? According to the World Bank 22% of Indians exist on less than USD 1.25 per day. I assume when you refer to the majority that the other 78% all send their children to private schools or just 51%?

I'm afraid I can't comment on whether 'most Indians' go back to India as I haven't done a survey but I would say that if that's the case then I doubt Canada is losing sleep over it.

Canada wants people who will add to the greater good of the country and add to the general well being and growth. For those born in Canada, I would say they have every right to complain and whinge as they know no better. For those who've moved there's always a plane going the other way and I'm sure a lot of people who'd be happy to wave them off.

We respect Canada not because its 'CANADA' but because we are 'INDIANS' & its our culture to regard everyone *indiscriminately and not to pass harsh insensitive judgments. Coming back to our discussion, India is far better than good-for-nothing and ridiculously over-hyped country as Canada. Well done on your research about world bank and literacy, I wonder if you ever had the chance to google the economic standing of Canada? No? Canada's ranked 10th with 1.7 Trillion dollars as compared to India's economy which is 2.3 Trillion dollars and 6th largest in the world. We don't expect Canada to loose it sleep over Indians boarding flights to migrate back to India but it must definitely contemplate about some inferiority in comparison to India.

Also if you can cut down on un-necessary expenses like 3 meals/day, good quality clothes or food, car , apartment (above-ground), then you can be happy.

not necessarily, i've been here just a year. both my husband and i work with good jobs, we eat three meals a day, go out every weekend, live on the 17th floor in downtown vancouver. and no we're not from a first world country, our diplomas are not from canada and english is both our third language and we don't have western names.
