I dont know if I have to blame luck or fate or karma. I created a profile in MArch 2019 with 447 CRS score (awaiting my spouse's ECA from WES) after a bunch of follow ups (even wrote to the WES head) I got my husband;s WES report and CRS went up to 455. IF you see the trend the week before I created profile the draw was below 447 and as soon as I created my profile it went up.
Same with including husband's ECA number. Until then the score was about to hit 455 and it went up after that never came down to 455. I received a nomination from Ontario on October 2nd after the draw so lost the chance that day. was waiting on the draw and they did an FST draw (Same thing happend when I reached 455). It has been such a long wait!!!
Same story.

For those people who have a low score, anything below 450 and they don't expect the score to rise going forward then it might be a good idea to learn french. This is especially helpful for those who have a couple of years.

Of course, it is not easy and you will have to put in hard work, but French is one of the easier languages out there if you already know english. With regular work one can definitely reach intermediate level in a couple of years. And it will be a HUGE advantage here in Canada. Besides, who knows, it might even open doors in France. Worth a try for those willing to invest in themselves and up to the challenge.

I must add that you only get substantial points if you score intermediate level in all 4 areas, i.e. listening, speaking, writing, and reading. But I also want to say that it can be done. Heck, in 3 months of just putting half an hour a day i had reached a level where I could read children's graded series books and i am pretty sure that with more effort i would have reached an intermediate level in 1.5 years. You get at least 30 points for intermediate level (almost nothing if you score below intermediate though so it has to be at that level).

You can try the following :-
- Learn french as quoted before by the gentleman.
- If you are in your early 30’s, take a break from work and enrol yourself for a diploma in your choice of subject for 8-10 months in Canada.
- May try to go without spouse if that boosts your score
- Reattempt IELTS to beat your best score
These are some of the ways I could think of, if you are not eligible for any PNP’s, FST’s, and still want to give yourself a fair chance. Well, as they say, god helps those who help themselves :)

If you are already maxed out then I suppose none of the options is easy.

-Getting married to a canadian citizen or PR
-getting a canadian diploma/degree
-getting a sibling or close relative to move to canada for whom you can claim 15 points (my sister in law is doing this i.e. claiming points for me being here)
-learning french

Among all these by far the most beneficial is learning french imo. And it will open a lot of new doors. Especially if you are looking for govt jobs it can be really advantageous besides opening up the whole quebec market for you. Heck, there might even be options to move to france (haven't explored it but might be a possibility).

Thanks for posting about the French stuff. Did you learn on your own or take classes?

I learned on my own. I used a combination of the fluent forever method (google it) and using the rocket french app (bought their course for 160 bucks). I never followed through with it because I got my ITA without it (at my time cut off was 440 and i was at 456) but i am seriously thinking of restarting my french. But it is very doable within 2 years with consistent efforts. Consistent being the key.

just so you know, about 1/3rd of English words come from French. So you already have a huge vocabulary present. It is one of the easier languages to learn.

if u can't gather the docs attach a LOE explain everything and please be very detailed about it and submit the file and try to gather that docs later on u never know CIC might ask you later on so i ll suggest u to submit the docs and explain everything get an affidavit from your sibling and get it notarized that would help too; provide supporting docs and when u r done submitting try to get the correct docs so that in future if they ask u can tell them that u have the required docs and i wish u luck i hope officer go easy on u best of luck mate
I couldnt arrange the documents because now they can't be made. I am just wondering attaching a LOE in this case would unnecessarily draw extra attention.

Point 2 is not an issue. What matters is your name is consistent in your documents.

Point 3 is also not an issue. For your PR they will ask only your documents, your father's documents, they do not care how it is spelt on his documents. Make sure you enter your dad's name in the application same as how you have in your documents.

No idea about what to do for point 1 sorry
Thanks. I am thinking not to mention anything in LOE for point 2 & 3. Not sure about point 1.

Can anyone please help me here !
