I dont think they take any preference. I would advice take whatever you get to avoid delay
Thanks... I got the appointment for the interview. Booked in for 10Oct
I have a question...i had just got new photos clicked for COPR. For appointment they have asked to bring another set. Do they really ask for photos?

I was asked the same for landing interview eventhough I submitted photos for COPR. Also the COPR was affixed with a photo. So I took another set to landing interview after checking with the customer service when they said it's better to take it when asked and to avoid unnecessary delays, although he mentioned it's a generic template of a landing appointment letter. Anyways, when I was at the counter to sign the COPR, the officer asked which photo i would like to be on the pr card. The new set or the one affixed on the COPR. I decided to go for the COPR version.

So if you have your COPR affixed with your photo, you still take another set and you will be asked to choose.

Thanks for your reply... I am anyways not going to get new photo clicked. I was planning to get a reprint of photos i sent for COPR, which was just 15 days ago...
I have photo only on one copy of COPR, not both. Is it normal?

I'll still take them to avoid any hassle. The PR CARD photo anyways come in greyscale and i don't think I will use that as my profile photo anywhere :)

Yes, the photo will be on the IRCC copy of COPR and not the client copy. You can reprint the photos and take them with you in my case, they used the photo on the COPR.

Hi guys,

I did my landing at the Etobicoke office last Thursday, Oct. 3rd.
It was really calm and the officer was really nice to us.
My appt was booked @3 pm, but I got there at 130pm and left @ 210 pm.

You are supposed to double-check your COPR when it arrives at home. Make sure that all details are right before booking the appt.
On the interview day, you only need the passport, COPR, RFPF receipt and the letter sent with the appt details (maybe is good to have the POF). They also asked 2 photos, but I didn't want to change mine from the COPR and waste more $20 cad, so I just told him that I would like to keep the same photo and there was no issue.

The office did the same questions that are in the COPR:
- Day and place of 1st entry in Canada
- Day and place of last entry in Canada
- Do you have any children?
- Did you commit any criminal offence?

He asked us to initials and signed the COPR, gave some other instructions and congratulated us: You are a permanent resident now. Congratulations and welcome to Canada. During the time he was processing the application, he was gentle and he asked if we would go back home or stay here / if we still feeling as tourists or if we were already adapted to life here.

The service Canada is beside the office, so I just updated my SIN # after the IRCC interview.

Overall, it was a really easy and fast process. I would say that it was better than crossing the border.

I hope that it was helpful =)

Nice... Did you take the additional photos with you or not? In my case it's a family of 3 so that means 60$... Can I avoid that expense?

No, I didn't take a new set of photos. I only brought the COPR with the picture sent before. He asked if I was happy and if I would like to change, but I told him that I didn't want to change it. It was everything okay.

I complete my landing at Etobicoke office on Oct, 5th. i waited for close to 3 months to get an appointment and want to share some learning.

As per the COPR document i called the IRCC number which instructed me to send an email for landing appointment. i did exactly what was instructed by automated helpline and I received automated reply which says that will get appointment in 30 days.

After 30 days when i followed up with agent over phone they asked me to wait for 6 weeks for Etobicoke appointment. Again i waited for 6 weeks

After 6 weeks when i followed up with agent they escalated the case and sent a note to office that 6 weeks are already passed and appointment is not yet set. Now agent asked me to wait for 30 days for office to take action on a note sent by agent.

It was around 20 days(+ 6 weeks) passed when no action was taken one of the agent told me that i can even follow up over web form. So i did the same and sent a Web form request. Within 5 days i received a response of webform that respective office has been notified and they will contact me soon.

And finally after 6 weeks + 21 days i got the appointment email.

From all above timelines and experience this is what i learnt,

Don't book an appointment over email. Instead call agent and asked them to setup an appointment. The reason I believe this is fast because 2 of my friends they booked an appointment through agent and did not send an email and got the appointment within 2 days. Even though their COPR expiry was very similar to mine.

Don't wait any longer after 6 weeks and raise web form. I am not sure but somehow i believe that my appointment was setup due to my followup over web form and not because followup of an agent.

Hope this helps and good luck to everyone waiting for their PR

Hey, what did you take for proof of RPRF fees? I had paid all the fees in starting at the time of AOR so should i take that receipt? It does not have any break down!

Did the agent actually ask for it?

Thanks in advance!

They did not ask for RPRF proof but as stated in the email i took the one i paid during document submission. You are right it does not have any break down but that's what we have and should be ok

Completed my Landing at Etobicoke office yesterday.... Wait time was a bit longer. Perhaps my appointment was at 1:00PM and the wait was spilling from lunch time. When I reached, it was only one window for Landing but after 1:20 there were 4-5 windows and the queue was running much faster.

Just a suggestion to people who are yet to do the landing: If you find any mistakes in your COPR, it is easier if you put a post-it on the COPR and write the correction details on the Post-it. That ways your work will be fast and Agent's work will be easier! I saw a couple before me they were searching for the dates in passport stamps and then the stamp did not have "Day" printed clearly but Month and year was clear...

NOTE: DO NOT write anything on COPR. Just make note of changes on a note or Post-it and keep it with COPR.

I had done that and Agent was very pleased and said I can wait for 5 minutes while she corrects changes to COPR for us(3 people=6 COPRS)..After that it was quick for us..just 2 questions, initials and sign.

Get SIN updated next door at Service Canada!

Remember to update your Employer and Banks with new permanent SIN. Though CRA is updated with New SIN, you should always call them and verify in a week's time after you get the SIN.

Parents with Children: You can get SIN for your child as well while at Service Canada. They just need child's COPR and Passport. If child is born in Canada, they need Birth Certificate. This would save you another trip to Service Canada.
