I think it takes one week in most cases.

OWP came in the mail today! Took 6 days. I only had 3 weeks left on my IEC.

Question: I need to apply for an extension as soon as I get my passport. How long does an extension take? Is it another 4 months?

My partner has only 5 weeks left on his IEC, but from what we understood, he has implied status and can continue working until he gets his OWP even it's after IEC expiry.

I'm not actually too worried; I have my OWP til May 20. Takes a month to get new passport, so even if it takes another 4 I will have time. Was just curious.

You can be eligible while applying for Permanent Residency or holding a Work Permit a long as you meet a number of other requirements.

In Nova Scotia all I had to provide was evidence I'd paid the PR fees and that I'd sent my application, but Ontario is more rigorous.

I'm going to make this a game: Based on June's timeline, I'm predicting I'll get OWP October 8th. I'm very jealous of the people that applied in July. I should have just waited an extra 5 days to apply and I would have had my OWP a month sooner haha
