Can I work in Canada with TRP?

I'm currently on a PGWP (expires oct 2017) and I'm working at a NOC B level job through a hiring agency. I doubt my employers want to go through the hassle of an LMIA so I'm not even going to try extending my work permit. I just came across this Temporary resident Permit application by accident. I was wondering if I could still work in Canada with one of these (If I'm eligible, that is)

Appreciate the help!

A TRP is a special permit allowing inadmissible people to come to Canada. You don't qualify.

Agreed with the above. You don't qualify for a TRP. A TRP is a special and difficult to obtain permit that is granted to individuals who are otherwise inadmissible to Canada - typically due to a crime they committed outside of Canada.

You're already in Canada and clearly not inadmissible. You don't meet the requirements to apply for a TRP.

Thanks for the replies. Is there any way for me to extend my stay in Canada at all? I just need to be able to work this job for 5 more months after my PGWP expires so I can be eligible for EE

Your only option is the LMIA route.

Once your employer has an approved LMIA, you can then apply for a closed work permit.

The system tells me I dont have to get an LMIA if I already have an EE profile active. Is this true?

No - not true. You've misunderstood the rules.

To qualify for a bridging open work permit (BOWP), you must have already been selected under Express Entry (i.e. received ITA), have already submitted your application (after receiving ITA) and have received confirmation from CIC that your application has been accepted.

Having an active Express Entry profile gets you nothing. You still need an approved LMIA.

Forgive my PITA prying, but I just can't figure out why I'm not being asked for an LMIA in the application, but you're pretty confident it's a pre-requisite for getting an extension

You must be entering something incorrectly to get the 'no LMIA required' result.

I'm not pretty confident - I know with all certainty that an active Express Entry profile does not entitle you to a BOWP. Feel free to ask in the Express Entry section of the forum. They'll set you straight faster than I will.

You need an approved LMIA. If your current employer won't get one, you need to find a new employer.

It's not necessarily a "no LMIA required" result I'm getting. It just doesnt let me add an LMIA number/code into the application form. That part of the (pdf) form is blocked out for some reason

Scylla is 100% correct. Having an EE profile submitted does not in any way qualify a person for a work permit. If you have a look in the Foreign Worker and EE sections of the forum, you will find quite a few threads of others in your situation.

Hi there, I do have a couple questions, I need to apply for TRP, because I am inadmissible to Canada, I tried to apply a couple months ago for work permit with LMIA by ONLINE, and sent my TRP request by mail, also I explained to connect both applications together, but for some reason CIC, never did it, in about 2 months CIC refused my work permit, and after 6 months refused my TRP, I am not sure but I think both process has to be accepted or refused at same time.
Now I am receiving another job offer with LMIA, how do I have to apply for work permit and TRP, from Mexico and hows the best way to be approved?

TRPs are typically quite difficult to get. What is the argument you are trying to make for why the TRP should be granted? What evidence do you plan to include with the application to prove this argument?

Why are you inadmissible?

Well, the argument I think if I am receiving a job offer because my employer didn't find a local worker to performance that type of job.
Evidence? I do have Diploma for my position and real references. Also I do have strong ties in my home country, my own house, married with 3 children. I hope you can guide me what kind of arguments can help my application
