So I'm the principal applicant sponsored by my husband. I sent off my OWP application together with the rest of the PR application. My husband received an e-mail this morning with the AOR -- is there a separate AOR for the OWP or just one for the whole application?

From what I understand the OWP is a separate application, but some people didn't receive AOR for the work permit and just received the permit in their mail.

I submitted spousal file and OWP application for my wife on 28th june and file was received on 2nd july. I got application number on 15th august.

How long does it take to get OWP??

From the spreadsheet tracker, for most people it seems like 2-3 months after receiving their AOR. It's a long wait.

From what I understand the OWP is a separate application, but some people didn't receive AOR for the work permit and just received the permit in their mail.

Strange that it is inconsistent. I sent them both together, so I wonder why only the PR application was mentioned in the AOR.

I am primary applicant, my husband is canadian citizen sponsoring me, we sent the application + OWP on July 2 , they received on july 4 according to canada post tracking number. Today, on august 16 we received the AOR in my husband's email. There was a mistake in my name (they used my twin sister name instead of mine) I called in, but they said it was an error that they will fix without affecting my application. The agent who I spoke with told me I will receive the Work Permit on november. (Hope this info is useful for someone).

I think it depends on the amount of applications they're handling, first time I sent my application they answered in one month and a half, second time in 17 days, and the last time, I received the AOR in a month and a half.

I got the AOR today on august 16, and had to call the callcenter due to a mistake in my name, the agent told me I will get the work permit on november.

Hello, fellow Brit here, being sponsored by my Canadian husband. Applied for inland with my OWP, submitted on the 26th of July. Nice to see others in the same boat.

Trying to get private insurance and update my resume in anticipation of my OWP.

The CIC timing checker says an open work permit takes 6 weeks to arrive, but all the advice on here seems to point to a minimum of 4 months.

Application received: July 5th

AOR issued: August 17th

I'm a common-law partner of a PR holder, which question are you referring to exactly?
