Federal Express Entry vs Provincial Nominee Program

Greetings all,

Overall score is 453 CRS. Just received a provincial interest letter. Has anyone gone through this?

If I apply for the provincial program but get my ITA through the federal program during the application process, I can still go on with the Federal Express Entry, right? As in, my federal application isn't overthrown as I apply or wait for provincial application?

Thanks!

Once you accept PNP.. your application is out of pool and part of PNP... its called locking on application as you have accepted PNP ...

So, having said that, I cannot simultaneously have two applications floating in the system to be chosen?

Do I receive additional 600 points by accepting PNP? If so, I suppose it’s worth applying by simply having a higher score?

Or is the actual PNP application process too burdensome to even bother? Better off sitting and waiting for the score to drop from 466 to 453? Ugh I’m so confused, I can’t seem to comprehend all this info on the official website.

Once you acceot and validate yes u get 600 and boom... 1500 dollars are for that entire process and then it goes ss and rest of stuff... PNP tales more time... now 453 is highly doubtful to come to this year

you can get a regular invite while your oinp is processing and can choose to go with the regular invite and request oinp to withdraw but might lose the 1500$ fee depending on how far oinp is done processing.

Makes perfect sense. Thank you! So, two of my applications will be considered simultaneously, but I might loose the fee payment, assuming I’ve gone far enough to pay the fee.

So, where can I read about the PNP process timeline? I get it that 453 is pretty low of a score, so as long as two of my applications are considered simultaneously, Im willing to pay 1500$ to increase my chances. If I get chosen by the Federal program first, great. If PNP works out first, also great.

you have to pay 1500$ to oinp upfront, they will refund if your application has not yet reached 'assessment' stage. at 453 its highly unlikely that you will get a regular invite anytime before oinp noi expires, so you better take it. takes 2 months to get oinp nomination and 600 points.

Heck ya. Say I sit down to start everything today and in 2 months my score will shoot up with those 600 points, then yes, I’m paying those 1500$. 2 months is worth it.
