Hi- I am working on my BOWP application. My online account takes me to a questionnaire whenever I start the process. This is asking, amidst other stuff, if I have been approved in principle for permanent residence. I checked with the CIC customer rep- they said I have passed eligibility and few other steps- so what should I write? Or is this option only for spousal category?

Also, is Application to Change Conditions, Extend My Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker form [IMM 5710], the right form?

What supporting documents are required for a BOWP? I can see the above form is asking for work stuff for the last ten years- but it does not provide space for it, what to do?

And what should be the starting and ending date on the form for the work period?

Can someone please share their experience. Thank you for your help.

Hi there,

I made the mistake of assuming that by having a profile submitted in the Express Entry Pool, that it qualified me for BOWP. This is not the case. In order for you to receive a BOWP, you must have at the very least received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for PR under EE, and hopefully already submitted your application. In order to receive your ITA, you must meet the threshold of CRS points in a round of invites, this is around 460 at the moment. You will need to improve your score, either by receiving an education credential assessment or (as you likely already have) doing language tests.

Without an ITA, your application for BOWP will be refused (as mine was).

Make it your goal to get your application for PR in, and then you can apply for BOWP whilst they process your application for PR.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your reply. I have already applied for my PR in April 2019. I had my ITA in March 2019.

If I were you, I will cancel BOWP application because you said that IRCC's agent told you that "you have passed eligibility and few other steps". It means your PR approval can be made soon, so no need to apply BOWP. However, you still have at least 30 days before your current WP expires to apply BOWP. Once you submit your BOWP application, you will be in implied status automatically.

Mine is similar to you. I got AoR on April 2nd and my current WP will expire on Oct 31st. What I need to do is to wait until Oct 2nd to see where my PR application goes and then will apply BOWP if I don't see any update or change.

Thank you for your reply. I am yet to apply for the BOWP. I know, but the timelines can be quite uncertain that is why I am planning to apply from before.
