Hi - I worked a part time job as a retail salesperson (NOC Type C) for the same company from high school, through university (Seasonally contracted, worked during holidays) approx. 8 hours per week during this time. Once I had left university, I worked part time still, but approx 30-40 hours per week for this same company whilst I was looking for a full time position for about 6 months.

How should I approach looking for a letter of employment from this company - should I ask that it covers the full 5 years of employment? Or should I just say that they should prove that I worked there for those 6 months following the end of my university days?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

30 hours or more is considered as "full-time" for IRCC’s purposes.

Fair - but the work was inconsistent, should I just take an average?
For CEC purposes, any hours above 30, worked in a single week, are discarded for the work experience calculation anyway. So, it probably doesn't matter much. Try to be as accurate as you can. If it was a NOC skill type C job, it's not going to contribute to the work experience anyway.

If this is NOC C, then it does not count as skilled work experience and should NOT be included in your profile. And you do not need a letter of employment.
