Hello,
Called IRCC Call agent on 1st August, Asked the agent to send a reminder to CPC Ottawa regarding my case as 6 months was completed, He agreed. Reply from CPC Ottawa was on 5 th August, Ghost update on 7 th, PPR was in 9 th August(Yesterday morning total 206 days for PPR). I believe(NOT COMPLETELY there's always that luck thing) the more you work on your documentations or paper work, the faster will be your case processed once, the Officer opens our file(till that point nothing we can do rather than calling IRCC).
Below is the total list of documents and told my story to the VO so that, he can easily understand the documentations I have submitted. End of the day they will purely go by their CRS calculations but, It's our responsibility to make sure VO is clear with our Education, Employment if we have gaps. (Removed few personal details and replaced with XXX) :D The objective of my documentations was to make that Visa Officer's life easy/day easy :) Below was the Letter of Explanation I have submitted along with all my documents.

Finally, I have graduated from XXXXX University on 26th January 2014. After my Master’s I have worked as a QA Analyst for around 2 years till March 2016 in USA. Hi @vinayk

In regards to the employment letter.

I have similar case, however my organisation does not provide any reference or experience letter. So I used the email for HR for refusal, in that email itself I have mentioned all my role and responsibilities to HR and requested for experience letter. On which they sent the refusal.

Further I used
-offer letter
-Appointment letter
-probation confirmation letter
-HR refusal on experience letter mail.
-HR mail for my recent promotion.
-6 month salary slips
-My company id card proof.

I have not used team member letter.

Do you think this can be a issue, or should I be worried.

called cic yesterday , strange and confusing , i had raised a webform request on 9 july ,called on 26 July , the agent said that the file was last touched on 23 july and if there is no action taken then you can ask agent to send a reminder on 9 Aug as it will be 1 month for the webform request . Called om 9 Aug but the agent said that he cannot send a reminder as the status is ' its review required by an officer and he will get in touch if required'". Thus the file is not moving it seems. But raised a gcms notes on 17 july and again on 8 Aug to know the latest status
Jan 4 AOR, VO -CIO Sidney , NS. Seems NS is the slowest of all the VO, Thus in 8th Month now
Anyone else in the same boat and held up in NS VO. Thanks

NS is definitely the slowest VO. I haven't seen any PPR emails from this VO for Jan or Dec Aors. The agents keep saying file is processing or eligibility under review.

I really wish there was a way to reach the NS office or raise a concern for applications being processed there.

Whatever you have provided looks good but, I would still advise you to provide a Self signed Affidavit(notarized letter) with duties and responsibilities, salary, number of hours, designation/position and the same notarized letter from team member just to be on safe side. My understanding was that they need a document which will satisfy them that your job duties and responsibilities are matching with the respective NOC code on which you have applied or claiming points. And also while doing so we also need to make sure the duties and responsibilities are NOT exactly copy pasted from the Canada Gov websites(80% match should be good)

If you are in India, it's just two notarized letters you need and one from team member and his ID card and the other is signed by you(self attested). Once you have those documents you can simply raise a CSE and upload the documents along with a Letter of Explanation. Letter of Explanation is a must wherever we are not 100% compliant with the documents IRCC is expecting.

Thanks,
Vinay

Hi buddy,

On a blank piece of paper your colleague at work who is preferably your boss could also make a declaration about your work exp. stating that you are part of his/ her team. This is supported with contact details like official email id of this person, visit card and contact number, both direct desk and personal mobile.

In a similar situation, my friend was advised this and it worked and he had successfully got his PR. You might add this along with all the above you have stated :)

Hope this helps.. cheers

Eligibility comprises of review and verfication of the following:
  • age
  • education
  • work experience
  • valid job offer
  • language skills
  • funds
Basically, they will check if you have scored the points you are claiming. if not, then your file will be in review for further verfication (thats when it says review required).

Criminality and security both of them are part of background check (this is done to check if you are / aren't a threat to the country). Refer to the below information that they check:

Security - done by Canadian intelligence and security agencies and its starts once your application is ready / sent to main case officer for decision. Security includes the following:
  • 34 (1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible on security grounds for
    • (a) engaging in an act of espionage that is against Canada or that is contrary to Canada’s interests;

    • (b) engaging in or instigating the subversion by force of any government;

    • (b.1) engaging in an act of subversion against a democratic government, institution or process as they are understood in Canada;

    • (c) engaging in terrorism;

    • (d) being a danger to the security of Canada;

    • (e) engaging in acts of violence that would or might endanger the lives or safety of persons in Canada; or

    • (f) being a member of an organization that there are reasonable grounds to believe engages, has engaged or will engage in acts referred to in paragraph (a), (b), (b.1) or (c).
Serious criminality - (done thru your pcc mostly)

  • 36 (1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible on grounds of serious criminality for
    • (a) having been convicted in Canada of an offence under an Act of Parliament punishable by a maximum term of imprisonment of at least 10 years, or of an offence under an Act of Parliament for which a term of imprisonment of more than six months has been imposed;

    • (b) having been convicted of an offence outside Canada that, if committed in Canada, would constitute an offence under an Act of Parliament punishable by a maximum term of imprisonment of at least 10 years; or

    • (c) committing an act outside Canada that is an offence in the place where it was committed and that, if committed in Canada, would constitute an offence under an Act of Parliament punishable by a maximum term of imprisonment of at least 10 years.

Criminality

(2) A foreign national is inadmissible on grounds of criminality for
  • (a) having been convicted in Canada of an offence under an Act of Parliament punishable by way of indictment, or of two offences under any Act of Parliament not arising out of a single occurrence;

  • (b) having been convicted outside Canada of an offence that, if committed in Canada, would constitute an indictable offence under an Act of Parliament, or of two offences not arising out of a single occurrence that, if committed in Canada, would constitute offences under an Act of Parliament;

  • (c) committing an act outside Canada that is an offence in the place where it was committed and that, if committed in Canada, would constitute an indictable offence under an Act of Parliament; or

  • (d) committing, on entering Canada, an offence under an Act of Parliament prescribed by regulations.
Hope this helps :)
And this is what takes sooo long?

So my visitor status expires in 8 days and I am applying to extend it. Some of the requirements such as Proof of Funds should be okay but they said that I require a medical exam. I did one back in March, but the doctors office sent the results directly to the government so I do not have any documents on my end. Is there a way to go around this?

Edit: Actually on the document list for Proof of Funds it says if I am applying for PR I need to provide a letter from my bank in Canada on their letterhead stating all my accounts / debts. Do I really need to provide this information again?

I believe that you should have the up-front medical receipt on the day you took the exam. I uploaded that one within my visitor extension application. For POF, I just download the summary page of my online banking with 6 months' statements for just chequing and saving acct.

Hope this helps.

This helps a bit, so I don't need to provide a letter from my bank? And is there a way to access the documents I uploaded for my PR application. I don't have some of the documents for some reason

I used to apply for my student permit and work permit just using POF downloaded from my online banking. I did get one from my banks when I submitted the PR application, but due to the long pages of statements, my imm lawyer asked me to download and combine the statements by myself from online banking and then give to him. If you feel like to get one from your bank, you could do that too. I don't know if there is no way to access the docs you uploaded, but I don't think so.

I'll probably have to do some digging for my medical, if not I will have to write a letter explaining it with screenshots of my medicals passing this March and hope that they take it. Would it work if I went directly to the border and talked to one of the agents? that's how I got my first visitor status.
