hello. can anyone please guide me do i need to pass the canada medical licence exam to be eligible for applying canada PR or drop my profile in express entry or skkilled worker category.
i have heard that canada system allows you to apply pr even without passing board exam and you can take it after PR is given,

but in australia its oposite as you must pass part 1 licence exam to be eligible to apply for aus immigration.
please help. thanks

Hi
I am intending to apply as a principal applicant for the express entry. I am doctor with medical degree( doctor of medicine/ M. D Physician ) obtained from Ukraine after 6years of coursework. Later i did 1year internship in India and then i got my medical license to practice medicine in india. The degree i got from Ukraine is now equivalent to MBBS in India. I want to know if this internship counts as an experience since its not included in my 6years of medical education and i got my degree prior to the internship. Internship was done so as to acquire a license to practice in India. Please help

If you want to keep practicing as a physician I would look at how difficult it will be to get a residency spot to redo your residency. The chances are slightly better for family physicians but most IMGs are never able to get licensed in Canada. If you’d like to keep practicing medicine I would look at immigrating to other countries. For example the UK. There are IMGs from a few countries that don’t have to repeat their residencies to get relicensed but I wouldn’t immigrate without a job offer since many specialists aren’t able to secure jobs after they graduate.

Didn’t you need some form of internship or residency in the Ukraine to be able to practice medicine on your own? Usually work periods that are required to practice a profession don’t count but it seems up to interpretation sometimes. Would repeat my warning that it is extremely difficult to get licensed to practice medicine in Canada as an IMG. If you are determined to continue practicing medicine I would consider other countries.

No i didn't have to do internship in Ukraine to get my degree. They do it after the degree. i wanted to obtain a medical license as an Mbbs doctor in India, hence I had to pass the foreign medical graduate examination in india which gave me a temporary registration first and then i did a compulsory internship for one year and later i applied to get the permanent registration. So now the Ukraine MD degree is equivalent to the Indian MBBS degree. My internship wasn't paid but i had to do to more than 40hrs/week. I don't know if this counts as an experience.
