Hello Guys

I guess I am gonna apply for US visa, can anyone guide me in a right direction. I have checked their website and it looks like I need B2 visa
How long does it take to received it after submitting a complete application?
Do I need to send a passport to them?
Can I do it online or it has to be done on paper only?
I will appreciate if you share your experience

Thanks

Yes you need B2 visa. so technically you select B1/B2 option
Once you submit online D-160 form, you need to make payment and schedule appointment. You can also check the expected appointment times for different locations online, before choosing one.
You will need a specific size picture to upload for online application and also to take along.

After approval you may get your passports in 2-5 business days.

This is what it shows for VAC locations in Buffalo and almost everywhere else in New York state:
  • ASCs only collect biometrics
  • You must already be legally in the U.S. to go to an ASC
Anyone knows what the ASC mean?
and seems like we cannot travel there just for biometrics.....any thoughts/experience?

Please dont give wrong info... no stamp mean 6 months.. for 2 year they put a date...
Please check with CBSA ...
My mom didn't have a stamp when she came back on super Visa and then we went to the US land border and came back after 48 hours and the customs officer gave us a hard time saying she she only be here for 6 months and that they should have stamped her passport, so we had to go into the office to see an immigration officer who pulled up her file and said next time she should see an officer at the airport to stamp her passport to avoid issues. Officer was nice enough to stamp for 2 years from when she came in at Pearson.

Please check the link
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/examination-admission-port-entry.html

If parents and grandparents who possess the temporary resident super visa or letter of introduction have a stamp in their passport with no handwritten date, or if they have no stamp, then the period of authorized stay is 2 years from the date of entry.
i was also under the impression that if no stamp it was only 6 months. thanks for sharing the link!
