Children sponsorship/ law firm closes

Hello everyone,

My children sponsorship was approved in March 2019, their medical was done in April 2019. Only biometric and fingerprint are left . Today I got news that the law firm which was handling my children sponsorship case got closed . I could figure out the tension since past couple months that he lawfirm won’t answer their calls, have been telling me that the lawyer can’t meet in person cause he is sick etc etc . Now I am almost like in living hell cause I have not seen my children for the last 8 years ( my status is of a protected person ) I can’t travel back . All I got an email from the lawyer that trustee law society is going to contact me to asign a lawyer for my case . How do I know that in the mean while if immigration has given any deadline for biometrics and fingerprints and those I couldn’t submit in time and they refuse my children case . Immigration is not going to contact me ofcoourse, they will contact the law office which has been busted for some reason . I am so lost at the moment, an advise from you all would be much appreciated . Thank you !!

You may need to take over your own case again, and remove the lawyer as your representative. Here's how.

Thank you for the quick reply . I have checked the link you mentioned . In the form they need a declaration from the lawyer and his signature that I have been dealing with . He is no longer answering his phone as well as emails . Also there office is closed . In this situation how would I have him sign the forms .

You do not need the representative's approval or agreement to cancel them. I think that you need to reread the instructions.

You may need to take over your own case again, and remove the lawyer as your representative. Here's how.

You do not need the representative's approval or agreement to cancel them. I think that you need to reread the instructions.

Thanks I will double check . Also on the form the ask about the address where the case has been submitted . Looking at the cic sponsorship approval letter all I could see is “ Sydney case prossecing center “ there is no specific address or mailing address.

One last quick question for you, after I fill the use of representative form . Do I need to attach a cover letter in terms of immigrations starts corresponding with me. Because on the form they have not asked for any sort of my mailing address or email address . How to let the immigration know to contact me for further

Yes, you probably have to update your details with IRCC to make sure you are the person contacted by them from now on.
