Hello everyone,
I have been a shadow in these forums for the better part of year now.
Can't thank you all enough for all the information and support and constant encouragements to-and-fro which ended up motivating us all

Here's my story:
When I initially calculated my score it came up to about 442 based on an assumption of 8777 in Ielts.
I applied for my ECA in November 2018 and received it by End of April 2019.
I appeared for Ielts in beginning of April and scored L9 R9 W7.5 S8.5 and stood at 454
I don't remember if I got lazy in updating my profile or if I hadn't received by ECA number officially, but I missed on the draw that closed at 450

And then it all went south and the next closed at 470 and we all know the rest.
Luckily, in a rush I made my wife do ielts and she got L7.5 R6.5 W5.5 and S7.5 and was able to give me 12 additional points.

So im in the pool today, at 466 points, waiting to see what happens :)

Gooooooood luck to all you peeps and God bless you all abundantly :)

Cheers!!!

By the way, we are all working so hard, exploring all possibilities and are so keen on moving to Canada from our settled lives in our home countries.

After all, if youre in the pool, you are qualified, young, talented and probably in the top 10% of the country, caliber/potential wise.

So why are we leaving it all to start from scratch

Can we start a chain of reasons, of what motivates us to take such a huge risk?

I'll go first. The biggest motivator for me is financial benefits for my family. I come from a working-class family and my parent's took a huge gamble by providing a nincompoop like me a world-class education. This meant that they sacrificed their life savings to get me going and realistically I do not think I could re-up their savings if I earn in my home country ( unless I do something nefarious ) within their lifetime, so hopefully in the next few years of frugal living should enable me to provide financial stability to my family. I also aspire to travel across the world (Canadian passport is excellent for that), explore potential entrepreneurial opportunities ( access to Small Business funding and incubators, etc), have access to subsidized healthcare and I love cold climates ( the colder the better).

Haven’t seen any calculations towards # of ITAs recently.. Experts, how likely it is going to be 3600 for the remaining draws before yearend? Or there’s a chance that # of ITAs may increase to 3900 in the near future? With so many OINP being issued and getting approved in the next couple of months I am really anxious now.

Funny thing is 2 weeks ago I wasn’t expecting I could get CLB 9 so early and said to myself I still got time to work on IELTS till somewhen like in October. I had no anxiety issue back then when I was expecting an ITA in late October or even later. Then all of a sudden I passed CLB 9 and I somehow became worried about not getting an ITA by Aug :( I guess human beings are greedy ;)

I am not that positive towards getting picked today. Even if the cut-off is 458 I am very likely to lose to the tiebreaker as there are so many 458ers since that 470 draw in May. On top of that, OINP tech draw on July 12 is adding 1600+ candidates with CRS of 1000+ in the upcoming months.

Guys need help with couple of clarifications for my EE profile :

1. In case of one having multiple designations in the same company, in the work history, do I need to mention separate rows? Say I was hired as an Analyst, my offer letter also states that, but the current position is that of a Consultant, should I put two separate entries in work history, considering it is the same company?

2. For Work experience/reference letter, is it required to get it from the HR , or our supervisor would do, considering we get it on the company letterhead as is. Also, anyone have any experience of getting reference letter from an LLP? Since there are multiple partners that we report to across many verticals, how do we identify the one from whom the reference letter would work?

Thanks
Guys would really appreciate some help and clarity on this.
