Sponsoring a spouse who has a minor offence

Hi there , I have a question in regards sponsoring a spouse with minor criminal offence . This coming January 2020 we are getting married . I am a canadien citizen and he resides in USA without documents( but he’s nationality is Bulgarian ) I know that we will need to apply for a criminal rehabilitation ( 5 years passed ) but I wonder if we should apply now ( before the wedding ) or once married will be better ?

Apply as soon as possible.

I would apply now. Rehab can take anywhere from a few months to well over a year to process.

Thx for answering ! So I should hurry up to marry now ? Or I can apply for rehab without a wedding ? Cause they ask what is the reason you apply ( visit , sponsoring . Etc....)

Apply for rehab now. You can say it's for future sponsorship.

You don't need to be married first. As said above, just say it is for a future sponsorship app.
