Posting for a friend.
Recently graduated from private college. Aware that he can't get a PGWP because of Private college. He has a job offer for skilled job but employer won't do LMIA.
His study permit and work permit is expiring soon, can he work full time on implied status while he's applying for a new work permit, knowing he won't get it...just to buy time?
Something else to mention is he has a sibling who could sponsor him through Manitoba nominee but that takes a long time.
Any way around this?? How can he stay in Canada without being out of status or illegal. Some people have mentioned restoring status as a visitor, is this an option??

He doesn't qualify for a work permit, so no, he cannot apply for one to buy time. That will likely result in a rejection and him working illegally.

There is no sibling sponsorship. The sibling could help contribute to an application but your friend would still need to meet the work experience/education/language/etc. requirements.

If he wants to stay, he can change his status to visitor but no guarantee of approval. If he wants to work, he should apply for a 2 year program at a public college in order to get a 3 year PGWP.
