For sponsorship, bing employed is not a prerequisite, all the sponsor needs to show is the following:
  • You’re able to prove that you’re not receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability
  • you can provide for the basic needs of any persons you want to sponsor
As long as you meet the above, you are good.
Thank you so much @legalfalcon
  • We got approval from Quebec and CIC that she is fulfilled to be a sponsor .
  • Excuse me , How can she provide for the basics needs for PA ?
Thank you again for all your recommendation . It really matters to us .

@legalfalcon I have received CoPR and currently am residing in India. I plan to land in Canada only in November. Currently I am applying US L1 Visa and filling up DS 160 form which asks if I am a Permanent Resident of any other country. Since my passport has a Canadian PR visa, though Ive not landed, shall I answer YES or NO to this question?

IF you send any additional documents, it doe snot delay the processing of your application, unless it is about adding a spouse.

As regards the employment for which you did not claim any points, you do not need to inform IRCC about it, since you are not claiming any points and the application is locked the day it is filed.
Thanks for replying @legalfalcon

Dear, @legalfalcon! Would you be so kind to share your expert opinion on the following issue.
40 days ago I ordered a set of GCMS notes but haven't received it yet.
At the moment I am considering to file a complaint to the ICC (Information Commissioner of Canada) now. What do you think? Will it help with getting my notes as soon as it is possible? Or it is an ineffective measure which will just drive mad agents who process my file?

e-GCMS: Provides you with the GCMS notes, that contains the processing details and the officer's notes.
GCMS+: e-GCMS and the copy of your application and all supporting documents filed along with your application.

If you received the ADR, that usually happens during security. Only after security is conclusively passed, and it has been more than 2 months after that, then only you may be under enhanced SS.

For not you only need e-GCMS.
Thanks for a quick response! AOR 30 DEC, Eligibility-passed, Criminality-passed, Security- in progress (since 30 April). So I should wait for security passed date+ 2month to ensure whether it is enhanced SS.

Medical extensions are granted in cases where there is a change of an approval soon. Also, before eligibility can be finalised and PPR issued, medicals have to be valid.

Given that your medical extension request has been sent, this is a good sign.

As regards the eligibility, many applicants keep sitting after an analyst review, waiting a final review by an officer.

I hope that as soon as your medical extension is granted you should see some movement in your application.
Hello @legalfalcon

My medicals has been extended and the same reflected in my online account on June 20th 2019. However, there is no movement in the application yet. As per the latest call to CIC, eligibility assessment is in progress. Security not started.

As I mentioned earlier, my 2nd GCMS notes had few lines from the Case Analyst comments were deleted in the notes section. i.e (few review required lines were removed). but as per my latest notes (3rd set), I see all those comments back as I saw in the 1st set of GCMS notes.

I'm really concerned why it was removed in the 2nd notes and once again it came back in the 3rd notes. 1st & 3rd notes comments are same, no difference.

1st notes ordered under - Access to information Act
2nd notes ordered under - Access to information Act
3rd notes ordered under - Privacy Act

One thing to note is, for the 1st & 2nd notes I ordered it by paying $5. but for the 3rd notes, I ordered it without any fees. Does this makes some difference? Please shed some light.

You are requesting the notes under different Acts. It does not make any difference, only that the exemptions will be different, as in the exemptions are the same, but the corresponding sections under the different acts are different.

@legalfalcon Thank you for your response. applying for a Canadian visa ( tourist or student) means applying to IRCC before right? Am I wrong?
yes, you are correct.

If you have applied for an y visa before, you have applied to IRCC before.

The answer will be NO.

You only become a landed immigrant after you land in Canada with a COPR and you are admitted into Canada. Until then you cannot answer that you are a PR.

Thank you again for all your recommendation . It really matters to us .
Basic needs here refers to being able to support the sponsored person, by having enough income or funds.
