Hello everyone,

If my wife is in Canada with a visitors visa, and we initiate the Spouse sponsorship program application, does the initiation of this application grant my wife the privilege of staying in Canada until a decision is made on our application?

It is the OWP that will give her implied status. You should apply for both OWP and spousal sponsorship at the same time. Once you get AOR she has implied status. If you have not received AOR you should approve for her visitor status extension. If you explain that you have started the sponsorship process and provide evidence you should be approved.

Hello,
I had my girlfriend apply for a visitors visa, and she got approved. Now I will be going to my home country to get married and planning on bringing her here using the visitors visa she obtained months earlier. Can we land together in Canada and can I apply for inland sponsorship. Is this an OK to do? Any response would be appreciated.

Yes. She should have a return ticket that you can cancel later and she should only pack as a visitor not like she is moving. You should make sure you have a wedding that is keeping of what is to be expected by your culture or religion.

Hi Leon ,
Wow thank you for taking the time and write all this valuable info.
My situation is different; I am planning to marry my online boyfriend. We known eachother for 3 months but he is in Morocco.
So we are NOT married yet. I have read lots of posts here and different scenarios.
From what I understood the fastest way is to get married in Marocco then apply for sponsoring him afterwards .
I am planning to go to Marocco in the Fall and meet him and his family. We both want to get married; I know is soon and I have read lots of negative and positive stories about Canadians and Americans marrying Maroccan men . Some stories tell that men marry only for papers and once they get their PR status in canada or US they leave the marriage...it might happen to some I won say no but, it can be also a long lasting marriage. It all depends on the both parties.
So...what advice do you have in the situation of marriage in Marocco and sponsoring my future husband afterwards.
I am.pretty sure I qualify since I do have a job and a place to leave.
Thank you so much for your response.
Angelica

Please rethink your plan especially if it is your boyfriend who is pushing for marriage. Are there other red flags for your relationship like a difference in age or religion? What is the rush. At least one more in person visit would be advisable. This screams marriage or convenience. What if it is? Can you afford to repay monthly welfare payments if you do break up and he takes welfare. Have you discussed very basic things like how much money he expects yo send to his family. Whether he expects his family to live with you as soon as possible through PGP or supervisa. He may think that Canada is some utopian place where money grows on trees and life is easy. Please take your time with this relationship. It is really easy to get swept up in a new relationship but you should be cautious. With a lot of warning signs your sponsorship could get refused so it would be better and faster to have a strong application going in.

Hi, should I expect to receive any notification about passed medical exam? I had medical exam more than 2 weeks ago and I am wondering if I will receive any notification or not.
Thanks for any tips.

Sure, nothing there. I guess, assuming that medical results are ok I might not hear anything until decision made but I wanted to know if usually there is any confirmation about medical passed.

It takes quite a while to process the medical exam in general. Most applicants wait for 3 months before getting some kind of acknowledgement. Are you linked to GCKey? It will say on there if you have passed the medical exam. I don't think it tells you on Ecas.

Yes, a notification on your online account as medical passed on ...date... Your ECAS account or GCKe

Yes, so on GCKey once the medical is passed, it will change to say this. They'll take some time to process it still. Best wishes.

Hi!
we are applying for a spousal PR in family class as my husband lives in India (He was born in Canada).
I have two quick questions:
1. Do we need to courier the application to Surrey or can we apply online?
2. Do all the documents we submit need to be notarised?
Thanks for your help. Extremely appreciated.

1.The application have to be mailed to Sydney, Nova Scotia .
2.No need to notarize unless it is a translation.
3.Follow the Outland spouse Visa application Document Check list as it is.
4. Make sure he add enough proof of his intend to come back and settle down in Canada.
