I just received a letter that states the request for my passport. I applied online. What does it mean?
Do I need to submit my old passport as well as it contains my travel history?

99.99% its approved. Take both your passports to VFS and they will let you know if they need the old one or not.

My timeline:
- Upfront medical checkup on May 11th
- Submitted application online via CIC on May 28th
- Biometric appointment at VFS Jakarta on June 4th
- Biometric correspondence letter and passport request letter on June 10th (today). Submitted my passport on the same day.

Visa is approved, congratulations. Don't worry it won't be rejected.

i got mine back in like 3 days from the day of submission.
P.S. i went to collect my passport from VFS in person so please add a few days for postal service as well.
