Sponsoring my dependent wife and children

I have a PR for Canada and need to land before 15th Sep. I got this Visa only for me, but my wife and two children show up as dependents in my COPR.
I am hopeful of finding a job, when I start working in Canada, how soon can I start the process for PR for my family?
While the PR process is going on, can I bring my family in on a visitor visa and enroll my kid in school?
Please let me know.
My sister is a Canadian citizen, she can process my family's visitor visa too, which one would be a better option my sister applying for visitor visa or me doing so after landing in Canada? please let me know.

Your wife and children are listed as non-accompanying?

I believe you can start the process at any time to sponsor a PR. Your wife and children are not likely to be approved a TRV as they have family in Canada, and I'm sure your intention is to have them join you, not visit for a short amount of time.

You can apply to sponsor them immediately after landing. Note that you must continue to live in Canada while their application is procesed.

Yes - they can apply for a TRV - however there's quite a significant chance the TRV will be refused since IRCC will likely assume that they have plans on remaining in Canada long term. To be approved, they want to show very strong ties to their home country - this is far more important than the invitation letter.

Thanks for the replies so quickly. My family is mentioned as non-accompanying in the application but have been declared and went through medical exams.
If I apply for their PR, while their PR is in process, will it not be possible to being them in on TRV as they would eventually become PRs?

They will likely be refused TRVs because they aren’t temporary visitors. You will likely be separated for a year. You can try for the TRVs but be prepared that there is a high chance of refusal.

Yes - unfortunately it's still quite possible they will be refused if you have a job and have sponsored them for PR. However they should certainly try applying - it's possible they may get lucky and be approved.

Assume you listed them as non-accompanying to gain more points. The consequence is usually around a 1 year separation.

Yes this is the case even though I had average 8 in IELTs, have a masters degree and have a sibling who is a Canadian citizen That's the sad part!! I just started off late and lost points on my age, I had other responsibilities I couldn't shrug off all the while to start early . Someone told me I could apply for my family and it would be done in 6 months.

1 year is more realistic. It might be earlier but 6 months would be very unusual. Your application with non-accompanying family would have been done in around 6 months.

Yes, because given that they have PR applications pending, they will not be genuine visitors. Though anything is possible, you should certainly apply and see what happens.
