November 2018 Outland Applicants (Spousal Sponsorship)

Hi,

I'm a new member. Have been following this forum for a while now to know if I am the only one who still hasn't received a file transfer update having finished 6 months since application received by CIC. My timeline is below:

Principal Applicant - Resident in England
21 November 2018 - Application Received by Sydney centre
29 January 2019 - AOR 1
05 February 2019 - Medical Request
07 February 2019 - SA
18 Februaury 2019 - Medical Passed

There has been no update since. Nearing the 6 month mark last week, I enquired CIC regarding the application status via the webform. They replied after 5 days saying the application is in process, there is no further information required from the applicant and that they aim to make a decision as soon as possible. I'm just a bit nervous seeing people who applied around the same time as me (and a few cases where people applied even after me) already getting their PPR. Also, is it normal to not receive a file transfer email?

Opinions appreciated!

Just identical situation to some people here. And we do not know why for some it’s less time and for some more time before transfer... we were told by immigration call center just to wait.
Here is what I have on cic site:

1-We received your application for permanent residence on November 7, 2018. ( it’s Sydney)
2-We sent you medical instructions on February 19, 2019. To avoid delays, please provide us the information requested in the letter as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
3-Medical results have been received.

And medical were received at the end of February. Since then silence. But I am pretty sure they know what they are doing there. Maybe soon we also get transfer, it’s 6 more month left. Plenty of time to process.

If you do not mind me asking, did the PA live in any other country other than their country of birth?

Hello, I am very worried because since March 14 I passed the medical exams and my application was not transferred and did not start the background check. I see a lot of people around here have the application stopped, too.
I'm from Brazil. What logic will they have to make the queue walk? Is it by country of origin? Will it be by medical examination approval date? I just wanted the background check to start, my application has been stopped for 2 months.

Hello Sarah, Are you inland or outland? For all outland lots of us are in the same boat awaiting for file to be transferred to Mexico. Apparently this is the slowest VO of all the VOs. All Central , Latin American as well as Caribbean files goes to Mexico adding. I was told that files does not get transferred to Mexico until the VO has catch up with the existing files ( not sure if it is true or not but sounds like a valid reason for me ). I called CIC today I was told that my wife's file is still in Sydney however the VO has already been designated ( which of course is Mexico ) this is nothing new and . The officer told me that may be file will be transferred in a few weeks. Well guess what it has been over 2 months since applicant has passed medical now and exactly 2 months and 10 days file is still not transferred. The officer also told me that sometimes files does not get transferred and is treated in Canada. Well hopefully this will be the case but then if it was going to be treated in Canada why would it be ob hold for such a long time. Bottom line Mexico is very slow, lots of waiting time and a lot of patience needed., Check the Mexico board from time to time for any updates .
