For my mom's super visa she did not undergo medical exam. I don't know if that's the reason they only gave her 3 years instead of the 10 year visa as per the website.
it could be the validity of her passport. my mom got 8 years instead of 10, but that's only because her passport wasn't valid for 10 yeas.

requesting medical is completely up to the officer reviewing each TRV file, but i dont think they would give u less time because of her health, if there was a concern, they would just reject the whole thing.

I’ve just confirmed with IRCC via Twitter.
That if our Application is received & Signed by “SCI SCHLIEBNER”.That is equivalent to be received by IRCC.
So guys don’t panic if your receiver is SCI.

Her passport is valid way beyond the visa they give. That's why I find it a bit strange that she got such a short time.
Did your mom voluntarily go for the medical exam or was it requested during the processing of her application?

Do not worry about it, just make sure you put the correct family size in the forms. As per you post, your family size is 2 and thats what you will put for year 2016, 2017, & 2018 for financial/ income form.
Can you apply for one parent even if there are not divorced?
As I want to apply for my Mom only .

passports are usually valid for 5 or 10 years.. did ur mom get a passport and right away applied for the super visa?

also, medical is a requirement for super visa. how did ur mom get one without going for medical?!

Medical and visa period is at their discretion. It's good deal .Medical cost money and trouble . some time They ask for further medical exam.

hmm that doesn't make sense, medical is a requirement for super visa... he must be talking about a TRV...
No, it is for super visa, not a TRV. I prepared the application for her.
She has her passport for a while before she applied for the super visa. Her passport is still valid 4 years beyond the visa period allowance.

"We recommend you pay the right of permanent residence fee ($490) now to avoid delays. You will have to pay it before you become permanent resident."
